Can't wait for this keynote at ePIC 2024... opening up recognition from a *seemingly* unlikely source:
"The regulation of professions and trades has long been criticized for its formalism and conservatism in terms of admission and recognition, like a precautionary reflex to the risks of harm associated with a practice.
This session will present a vision that starts from the reality of what individuals are, the contexts in which they become competent and the various forms of recognition, traditional and emerging, which can be combined and complement each other. This vision sees the possibility of reconciling the mission of regulation with a new collective and open culture of recognition."
In his role as the Commissioner for Admission to Professions in Québec, Andre Gariepy provides his expertise in different contexts and forums in Québec, across Canada and internationally. He has an independent and critical vision that's focused on the fairness of regulatory processes and their ongoing improvement. He is coming to share his insights and to learn from the ePIC community.
We look forward to welcoming André to ePIC 2024 #openepic in Paris. Because #openrecognition is a BIG TENT that can include the full spectrum of recognition, using open #digitalbadges as containers for formal #microcredentials, non-formal certificates of completion or informal tokens of achievement and appreciation - all published and differentiated using the flexible #openbadges standard, under the control of #openminds (a critical element!)
