The Pyramids of Giza, built with remarkable engineering techniques between 2600 and 2500 BC, continue to fascinate the world, remaining one of history’s greatest enigmas even in the 21st century. Connecta T2.1 captures breathtaking images of the Great Pyramid—the last standing wonder of the ancient world. But the story doesn’t end here; Earth Observation satellites are unlocking new possibilities, allowing us to protect and enhance the wonders of today’s world. 🏡Land Use Management: Ensuring a balanced distribution of residential, industrial, and green spaces. 🌳Green Space Analysis: Tracking parks, forests, and urban vegetation to support ecological health. 🌪️Climate Adaptation: Crafting strategies to address and mitigate the effects of extreme weather. With the Observa constellation, we will extend our reach, providing critical insights to support urban planning, environmental monitoring, and conservation worldwide. #WeArePlanS #PlanS #Observa

Hopefully communities aren't blindsided - we knew this was coming and have had some time to prepare both mitigation and adaptation plans. That said, written policies and strategies (if they were developed) won't be easily or quickly implemented, and this should concern us all. In my work I see good climate change responsive designs rejected or diminished due to cost (considered environmental responses address, through consultant coordination: grading, plant and materials selection, growing medium requirements, drainage & watering needs, solar impact, fire safety, etc.), and, occasionally, due to concerns around aesthetics. There is much to be learned from traditional land management and collaboration between climate professionals (including landscape architects, engineers, foresters, biologists), First Nations and communities. And as we learn we must implement. Space program captures images of B.C.'s dry riverbeds as drought continues https://lnkd.in/g7D4XiBv
