It's an invitation to ask, "Hey, do you want to talk?" or simply offer a reassuring nod. It’s these small moments of connection that build a stronger, more empathetic team. Wearing the S.H.I.N.E. bracelet is a commitment to each other – to be there, to support, and to celebrate. Statement Piece vs. Make a Statement. Meet my "rig" - a version of the bracelet stack I've worn since High School. Treasures I've hunted down or received as gifts over the decades. Yes I wear that many at once. Now they're not always the same, because I have a kickass collection. They remind me of great times, great people, great accomplishments, and sometimes great struggles. Society is always telling us not to wear big/loud jewelry in interviews or when presenting or hell as a woman over 50. Tone it down, soften the look, balance it out, DON'T DRESS TOO LOUD. In other words, water yourself down and look like everyone else to fit in. And certainly don't wear big bracelets AND earrings AND rings AND necklaces all at once! To that I say, "Hold my big ass hoops." As a business owner who's helped 1000s of other business owners share their story and sell their stuff - I can promise you that the more authentic you are, the more success you have. Now more than ever, buyers are buyers because they're believers in your product or service. Or they align with how you're rollin'. There's no hiding behind the brand wall anymore. Pull back the curtain, show them who you are and watch it sky rocket your revenue and reach. #livingthebrand #entrepreneur #kickassmarketing

Did you know that anxiety and fashion are linked? Many people have feelings of mild to severe anxiety when deciding what to wear, especially if it's for a big event. Three suggestions often come up for how to deal with this: 1. Have a few go-to pieces that you know you consistently feel comfortable wearing. 2. When shopping for clothes, pay attention to what gets you excited and brings a smile to your face. 3. If you want to show off your personality but are afraid of being too bold, choose a fun accessory. Surprisingly, a good necktie is an excellent way to achieve those goals for more easy and confident dressing: it's a fun accessory that can work with any dress code, and the huge variety of options available mean it's likely you'll find something that works with your personal style (what brings a smile to your face) and comfort level. One image, three posts: Day #2 What works for other people doesn’t have to work for you! One of the less obvious things about this photo is I’m wearing my watch on my right wrist. I never do that. But according to what is ‘right’, I’m supposed to (it’s customary to wear a watch on your non-dominant hand in case you didn’t know!). Being left-handed doesn’t really require many accommodations - to me anyway. I can move my desk around easy enough. I’ve never felt the need to change my mouse buttons. Scissors are a bit of a chew, but I don’t use them often enough to buy a special pair. I do tend to write sideways across things, but I’m not even sure that’s a left-handed thing. When it comes to my watch, however, I wear it on my left wrist. My reasoning is that because I’m #lefthanded, and therefore use my left more than my right, I like to wear ANY jewellery on my left hand (or wrist). I like the feel of the watch when I write. I like to see the watch or the ring or the bracelet when I do things. Yesterday though I thought I’d have a stab at being ‘normal.’ This tiny little adjustment to wear it the ‘right’ way felt weird for most of the day (basically until I switched it back over). I had the freedom to switch my watch back, but I work with people who have had to fight (or are still fighting) for ‘reasonable adjustments’. Being able to do things that work best for YOU can make all the difference, and that is part of what I do as Business Coach for Accounting for Good CIC (alongside making sense of things that don’t always make sense) - help people work in their best way. Just because someone does something in a way that is a little different from the norm, doesn’t mean they’re doing it wrong, just that they’ve found the right way for THEM. Support that person and everyone wins!
