I recently had the privilege of attending an IBM alumni reunion dinner alongside some of the greatest minds in research, hardware, software, and HR. These were the executives I admired as I built my career at IBM, and some continue to be influential mentors. As a first-time attendee and alum, two key things stood out to me: • The sense of family and pride: Even after many years away—whether through retirement or new ventures—attendees still spoke of the IBM team today as “we.” The feeling of belonging remains strong. Once an IBMer, always an IBMer. • A people and team focus: Although many people there had legitimate reasons to boast, rather than self-aggrandize, the stories were centered on the collective accomplishments of the people and the teams that worked together. This experience underscored the enduring culture cultivated at IBM over its 113-year legacy. This culture continues to bond IBMers together — past, present, and future. #IBM #IBMCulture #Teamwork #Leadership #PeopleFirst #CorporateCulture #Innovation #IBMAlumni Nicholas Donofrio, Dr. Arun Hampapur, Rick Martino, Bernard Meyerson, Paul Horn, Ross Mauri Ted Childs LLC Colin Parris Kyle VanKleeck Vijay Lund David Yaun Kevin Cleary

"CEO of the Year" in the Philippines; President & Country Head at IBM Solutions Delivery, Inc. & IBM Business Services, Inc.
IBM Consulting's leadership is undergoing a change as John Granger hands over the reins to Mohamad Ali and Kelly Chambliss. While this news has left many with mixed feelings, let me take a moment to reflect on my three thoughtful interactions with John ... starting from the times when he had a brief stint living in India around 2016-17. This is my tribute to him. #1: John would review each Sector every quarter. My first review with him in 2016 was a disaster. The remote telepresence equipment failed for unknown reasons, the landline phone would not connect, and finally I had to present over a mobile phone speaker with poor audio. I ensured my next few reviews were f2f in Bengaluru, but more importantly, those reviews truly shaped me up for C-level story boarding and pitches. When John learnt I was traveling at my own cost to meet him f2f for the reviews, he immediately instructed that my travels be reimbursed ... very thoughtful of him. #2: John saw me in action in 2017 during a client's CIO meeting he and I had in Delhi for a new logo opportunity with a global enterprise. So, later when I met him at his NYC office late in 2018 and expressed my aspirations towards a leadership role in the US, he supported me wholeheartedly and entrusted our global HR leader Daniel Sturm to work this thru with the US market. While this opportunity progressed, my current role in the Philippines opened up suddenly and I immediately picked it up. Soon, John connected me to the US Sector leader of an account in trouble and asked him to work with me as ... (in his words) ... "Sanjiv can solve anything". That was truly inspiring. #3: There are two people I would openly credit for my progression to an IBM Senior Partner ... Amit Sharma and John Granger. When I met John f2f right after and thanked him, his reaction was like brushing it aside stating he hardly did anything and rather "I earned it" with what I had been doing for IBM's Center in the Philippines. Coming from someone of John's stature, these were truly defining moments of my IBM career. My best wishes to John for his next innings in life starting early 2025. #IBM #IBMConsulting #IBMPhilippines #CICPhilippines

Digital Transformation Leader @ Accenture | Technology Value Creator | Enterprise Agilist | Sustainability Ambassador | Entrepreneur | Networking Enthusiast
A special weekend: 𝗜'𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 🥳 I was not expecting that, but my contributions over the past months have led to the surprising event of LinkedIn awarding me with a "Top Business Networking Voice" badge. Why do I have the honor to wear this badge now for some time? I have been posting, discussing, and connecting on my core topic #DigitalTransformation, and its related subjects. I have also contributed to Collaborative Articles with a strong focus on #BusinessNetworking, pushing me under the Top 4% of experts in this field. 🧑🏻🏫 My contributions triggered reactions: Likes, Comments, Reposts, etc. This led my SSI score to increase to the extent that I am now among the 1% across all categories (Industry, Network, Team). 🚀 A wise mentor I worked with in the past kept emphasizing that it is important to celebrate the small wins in our careers. So, thank you to everyone who fueled this!!! Particularly my colleagues from #TSAASG whose support I can always count on. I look forward to the next milestones in our careers! Have a great week ahead! Accenture DACH #TechRulezPeriod #Entrepreneurship #Technology #Career

Founder's Office and Strategy @The Souled Store | Chainge | ZS | Mckinsey NGWL | Hansraj’23 (Rank 1) | CFA Scholar
When I started at ZS Associates, I felt like an average person stepping into a new domain. The transition from academia to the fast-paced, data-driven world of decision analytics was overwhelming. There were countless moments of discomfort and dejection as I struggled to grasp new concepts and meet high expectations. At times, the tasks seemed insurmountable. I often felt out of my depth, making mistakes and doubting my abilities. But looking back, I realize that these experiences were crucial for my growth. They taught me the value of having the courage to suck at something new. Here are a few key takeaways from my journey: 1) Have the Courage to Start: The first step is often the hardest, but it's crucial to begin, even if you might fail. 2) Break Down Tasks: Instead of giving up when things seem too difficult, break them into smaller, manageable tasks. 3) Find Your "Why": A clear reason for why you are doing something can provide the motivation needed to push through tough times. 4) Surround Yourself with Support: Good friends and mentors can make a world of difference. 5) Celebrate Small Wins: Acknowledge and celebrate every milestone, no matter how small. My journey at ZS taught me that growth often comes from the most challenging experiences. Embrace the discomfort, keep pushing forward, and you'll find that even the toughest tasks become manageable with time and effort. If you want to read more about my personal experience with "sucking at something new," check out my latest article in the comments below.

I was genuinely amazed to discover that in Kyndryl, at the heart of progress, we are encouraged to be bold. A mere coincidence is found in the word "Heart." In the French language, "coeur" signifies "heart." Thus, courage is the intrinsic "heart" that empowers us to venture into risks. What I know for sure is that the more things we avoid, the more decisions we postpone, the less chance there is of failure and even less of success. We are often afraid of failures, which, in fact, are the best way to perfection and increasing our skills. Each improvement takes us a step further; each experience enriches and opens our eyes to new things. We don’t learn from easy and nice things; we learn from the hard ones. If we protect ourselves from failure and try to avoid risks, we are actually blocking our path to success. So, we must go outside the comfort zone, for that is where the magic happens and I make a habit of it. It's not that I'm impervious to stress; it's a constant companion. However, I choose to act despite it. Last year with my heart beating a bit faster I took the challenge to serve as the MC for Orlando Kyndryl Leadership Summit Day 2. It brought both pleasure and honor, coupled with a hint of stress. There was a moment of doubt about speaking on a stage before 800 people, yet the entire experience, from event preparation to standing on stage, proved to be truly remarkable. A heartfelt thank you to those who entrusted with this role, Maria Bartolome Winans, providing me with such a fantastic opportunity. Failure itself does not happen that often. It is the Fear of Failure that keeps us stuck. This is why: (1) Treat every failure as a lesson—an opportunity to learn new things. (2) Don't be afraid to try. Every attempt, even if it doesn't work, enriches your experience and expands your skills. (3) Each failure is one step closer to success, and each new step will take you further. (4) Take responsibility and learn from your failures; don't blame others for not succeeding. If you transfer responsibility to other people or circumstances, you can assume that nothing depends on you. (5) Don't give up! You have your own unique abilities, possibilities, and strength. You are one of a kind. So you will definitely always find a solution. Feel the fear and do it anyway! #heartofprogress #transformation #progress #personaldevelopment
