Powerhouse by Pack Buildings is a new approach to home development, empowering homeowners to unlock the potential of their land with ease. Designed by Human Studio, Powerhouse creates high quality, beautiful, and technically innovative pre-fab homes that require no price guesswork or lengthy construction times.
We worked closely with the Powerhouse team to define their brand story, creative strategy, and an ID system that represents their pre fab build system.

Last week we had the opportunity to take our newly formed Tomorrow’s Developer cohort on site with the impressive Macar Homes. This group was selected from our Tomorrow’s Developer network to take part in more intimate and practical events, in order to grow their knowledge and support their housebuilding journey.
Alex MacDonald, CEO of Macar Homes met us on site in sunny Essex where he is developing 20 family homes. After a walk of the site ,we sat down for a chat about the project, Alex’s experience and how he grew his business and brand to where it is today. Stories of successes and challenges were shared, and the key takeaways were:-
👉Markets don’t stay subdued for long, there will always be buyers and not enough homes
👉There are benefits to both traditional build and timber frame, weigh out the pros & cons and what is right for you (remember HA's will provide grants for timber frames)
👉Maximise light and space. Make the most of unusual spaces, be creative
👉If you want to scale your business be patient, equally if you’re too cautious you’ll never buy a site! Find a balance
👉Don’t underestimate landscaping! The first impressions of a development are important, make it a good one
👉Choose bespoke fittings where you can, up-spec and build your brand

Two years ago, back when Gaxa was still Bowerhouse, I had a big dream—to design and project-manage a duplex site. I could already see the potential duplex homes held for property investors and developers.
Fast forward to today, and here I am, standing atop a mountain of sand, overseeing a stunning duplex development for a boutique developer. It’s amazing to see how dreams turn into reality!

Ever wondered what it’s like to flip houses for a living? Here’s a glimpse into my day!
I start my day by searching for potential properties. This involves browsing listings, driving through neighborhoods, and analyzing market trends. The goal is to find properties with hidden potential at the right price.
Once a property is secured, it’s all about planning the flip. I meet with my team, including contractors, designers, and project managers, to discuss renovation plans, timelines, and budgets. Effective communication and collaboration are key to ensuring everyone is on the same page.
I spend a good part of the afternoon on-site, overseeing renovations. From demo day to final touches, I ensure everything is progressing smoothly and according to plan. This hands-on approach helps catch issues early and keeps the project on track.
In the evening, I review the day’s progress and plan for the next steps. Whether it’s sourcing materials, scheduling inspections, or strategizing the marketing plan for the finished property, there’s always something to keep the momentum going.
Flipping houses is a challenging yet rewarding journey. It’s all about finding the right deals, working with a dedicated team, and turning visions into reality. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes insights! 🛠️🏠💪
