"Popping with Pride" and surrounded by these amazing law enforcement officers who participated in the 52nd annual popcorn festival 5K, by running the entire event with their gear on!! The largest ever "Kernel 5K" was honored to include these 5 very special Police officers from Marion, Indiana. Their added gear and accessories added between 25-30lbs depending upon the weapons that they were carrying and their bullet proof vests. The fastest in the group finished in just over 26 minutes!! An amazing demonstration of their ability to serve others and personal courage and toughness. The annual 3 day festival never disappoints, and I'm certain that next year will be even better! The Parade, Car show, live bands, #popcorn, food vendors and crafts, 5k run, and more is an great tradition that shows off this great community and those who work, serve, farm, or live in our great State of Indiana.
