What if the Valsts ieņēmumu dienests, Finanšu ministrija/ Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia (Arvils Aseradens), Ekonomikas ministrija/ Ministry of Economics took inspiration from Estonia, and Latvia also provided access to company data on a quarterly basis? I can precisely calculate how many work hours this would save Buildit VC monitoring the activities of portfolio companies — by eliminating the need to request data every quarter on taxes, employees, and turnover. I am certain that I am not the only one who could save a significant amount of time and financial resources if quarterly information were also available in Latvia. The economy is moving forward and developing according to our politicians, and in the meantime - a small Estonian bank will cut 60 persons, there is growth, but for some reason it is negative 🙃 In the context of high capital requirements and falling interest rates, LHV Pank will cut up to 60 persons in the first quarter of 2025. According to LHV, the changes will not change the company's strategy or goals. Efficiency improvements will be implemented across the entire company. All LHV Pank services will be provided in the same volume, and important developments will be carried out as planned. The consequences of the changes will be taken into account in LHV's new financial plan, which will be published in February. "We intend to reduce the bank's costs by increasing internal efficiency. Using technology will allow us to do the same work and take the next leap forward with a numerically smaller organization than today. This is a necessary decision in order to focus on the future. “In the future, we want to grow a modern digital bank by developing systems, not by increasing the number of people,” explained LHV Pank CEO Kadri Kiisel.
