Exciting news from Web-Pro Corp! We've launched our eco-initiative with the creation of Tainan's first ecological "Tree Island" at our Xugu factory area. On March 16, our 'Green Carnival' event marked the start of a journey to restore the genetic diversity of Tainan’s native species. Our collaboration with the Taiwan Forestry Restoration Association is a significant step towards ecological conservation and meeting SDG 15 targets. With over 100 species planned for rejuvenation, the first phase has already seen 30 native species planted. This is more than a green endeavor; it's about restoring Tainan's natural heritage and fostering a living gene bank for the region’s wildlife. We're proud to lead the way in natural forest restoration, signaling a commitment to sustainability and community resilience. #WebProCorp #Sustainability #EcoConservation #GreenInitiative #SDG15 #Taiwan

As #WorldRainforestDay is fast approaching, we reflect on our efforts to take care of rainforests worldwide 🌍🌳 When we nurture all forests, we tackle the worst effects of climate change and prevent biodiversity loss, a task that we have been committed to for the past 30 years. Our efforts towards responsible forestry have not been in vain, and have translated into successful biodiversity preservation stories: 🐆 Mayan Biosphere Reserve of Guatemala – There are up to 11.28 jaguars per 100 km²: the highest reported values of the species in the country. 🌿 Madre de Dios reserve in Perú - There are 135 registered species in the FSC-certified area, including 17 key species tracked for their importance to this ecosystem. 🐘 Congo Basin – FSC-certified concessions harbor 2.7 times more large mammals than non-certified areas. The time is now: 2024 is the year of action. Join us in our mission to preserve the rainforests, and all the biodiversity that depend on them. Molokaʻi's wetlands are the cradles of Hawaiian culture, vital for sustainable agriculture and biodiversity. They teach us that conservation is more than science – it's a cultural dialogue. Read this inspiring story to discover how the Molokaʻi Wetland Partnership marries tradition with ecology, demonstrating the strength of #TraditionalKnowledge in restoring the ʻāina – land and water. https://ow.ly/5x6h50QuFEC

Today is European Natura 2000 Day. It is the largest network of protected areas in the world and was created 32 years ago, when the European Union (EU) adopted the Habitats Directive and the LIFE program. It currently covers more than 27 thousand protected zones, totaling an area that corresponds to 18% of the EU's land surface and almost 10% of its marine territory. These figures, from the European Environment Agency, also indicate that half of the areas protected by the Natura Network correspond to forest ecosystems: 37.5 million hectares of forest (23% of European forests) are integrated into this network. In the forestry heritage managed by The Navigator Company in mainland Portugal, the Areas of Special Conservation Interest – managed solely to preserve biodiversity and the balance of ecosystems – correspond to 12.19% of the total. Within these areas, the Company protects, through its responsible forest management, more than 50 habitats included in the Natura 2000 Network, spread over 4,420 hectares. It thus promotes the maintenance of existing natural values and contributes, whenever possible, to improve their conservation state through ecological restoration actions. In 2023 alone, around 191 hectares of forest were subject to these actions. (In the photo, a Navigator property in S. Biodiversity conservation is a priority of responsible forest management. In the approximately 107 thousand hectares of forest it manages in Portugal, The Navigator Company shows how it is possible to reconcile the productive objectives of planted forests with species protection. The forest under the Company's management includes Areas of Conservation Interest, which correspond to more than 13 thousand hectares – areas managed exclusively for conservation purposes. But its action goes further. Through, for example, biodiversity monitoring, protection of watercourses, and maintenance of buffer areas to protect valuable habitats. Additionally, there are forestry harvesting and maintenance operations that are postponed if they coincide with the nesting period of some bird species. Responsible forest management is an expression of Navigator's corporate purpose, in which the company commits to creating sustainable value, aiming to leave a better planet for future generations. #TheNavigatorCompany #biodiversity #florest #SustainableDevelopment

“𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧” World Wildlife Day’s 2024 theme. We, at ecoveda Climate, are committed to developing a robust digital MRV process for our forestry based projects, which not only aims at transparently accounting for the increased carbon sequestration and storage, from our project activities, but also at meticulously monitoring faunal biodiversity. We acknowledge the fact that forest conservation is not just about increasing or maintaining vegetation cover but also conserving faunal biodiversity, which is equally important in striking a perfect balance in the ecosystem. On this World Wildlife Day, let us pledge together to continue our efforts to create a more sustainable and resilient future for both people and wildlife. Join us in creating a meaningful impact and ensuring a harmonious co-existence between humans and nature. Revitalizing Ontario's Wetlands: A United Stand Against Phragmites For over two decades, Ontario's precious wetlands have faced a growing threat from an invasive species known as Phragmites australis. This aggressive grass, capable of reaching heights of up to 6 meters, has outcompeted native plants, impacted property values, and reduced biodiversity. Collaborative Success: The Long Point Phragmites Action Alliance, a coalition of 29 dedicated groups, has been at the forefront of this environmental challenge since 2016. Their concerted efforts have successfully cleared over 1,400 hectares of wetland, allowing native species plants and wildlife to reclaim their natural habitat. A Haven Restored: The fight against Phragmites is more than a battle against an invasive plant; it's an effort to restore habitats for a wide range of species, including waterfowl, birds of prey, herons, and egrets. The recovery of native flora and fauna is a testament to the importance of environmental conservation and our connection to the natural world. Let's support these vital efforts to maintain the vibrancy and diversity of Ontario's wetlands. Every action contributes to preserving these natural treasures for future generations. #SaveOurWetlands #PhragmitesFight #HabitatRestoration #OntarioWildlife #PriorityPlace Invasive Species Working Group Partners: Nature Conservancy of Canada/Conservation de la nature Canada, Canadian Wildlife Service, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Birds Canada, and the Long Point Phragmites Action Alliance.
