Two of our volunteers are helping our partner reach the right audience the right way. Dream A Dream is a non-profit, helping children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds overcome challenges and thrive. Their mission is all about giving these people the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed in life. They have gathered tons of insights on education and life skills over the years. But the problem is, their research is stuck in long, complex reports, making it hard for their audience to understand and connect with them. Without an easy way to present the information, it’s tough to get the message across. And that’s where our skilled volunteers Tejas Mane and Simranjyot Kaur step in. They’re transforming these reports into easy-to-read, blog-style content, using infographics and visual storytelling to make complex data accessible to all. By the end of the project, Dream A Dream will have a research hub that’s not just informative, but also engaging- helping their insights reach the right people, the right way! 🌟 Sharing Knowledge, Empowering Others 🌟 One of the most rewarding aspects of our careers is the ability to help others grow and succeed. By sharing our expertise and experiences, we can make a significant impact on those around us. Here’s how you can contribute: 1. Mentorship: Offer guidance to those just starting in your field. Networking: Connect people within your network who could benefit from each other’s skills and knowledge. 4. Public Speaking: Share your experiences and knowledge at industry conferences and seminars. 5. Volunteering: Teach workshops or offer your skills to non-profits and community groups. Working with clients to spread their message through video has been incredible. But here's the thing most people don't realize: Non-profits are changing the game. I've seen firsthand how powerful storytelling can be for causes that matter. It's not just about views or likes. It's about impact. • Helping communities • Raising awareness • Inspiring others to act Video doesn't just capture moments. It sparks action. And when it comes to non-profits, that action changes lives. So here's my challenge to you: Find a cause you care about. Reach out. Offer your skills. You might just create the video that changes everything. ♻️ Repost if you believe in the power of purpose-driven content!

What does your nonprofit do? -"Transforms lives" -"Builds a brighter future" -"Creates lasting change" No, what does it *really* do? ➡️ Provides children in foster care with new suitcases for a more dignified moving experience. ➡️ Increases the likelihood of students graduating high school. ➡️ Gives every student a hot meal for lunch. Replacing exaggerated terminology with something more specific makes your work more credible and accessible. Humans have become highly attuned to 'corporate speak' and can easily detect when something is vague, unclear, or outright bullshit. Skip the hyperbole and trendy language. Good nonprofit communications balance compelling language with factual accuracy. 🙌 #NonprofitBranding #CopywritingTips

Today, I've been doing some deep reflection: Why do I post? Is it to share my expertise? Is it to inspire others? Or is it simply to connect with like-minded individuals? Perhaps it's a combination of all three. But ultimately, I think it boils down to one thing: making a difference. In grant writing and fundraising, every post, every interaction, has the potential to spark change. Whether it's sharing valuable insights, offering encouragement, or fostering connections, each post is a small step towards creating a better future for those we serve. So, as I continue on this journey of posting and sharing, I'm reminded of the power we hold to make a positive impact, one post at a time. PS: What motivates you to post? A common trend I notice when I read web copy, especially from nonprofits, is that they use convoluted language. When I’m finished reading the “About” section I’m often left wondering what exactly they do. How many times have you visited a company’s website and read something that reads something like, “We empower communities by influencing the next generation of leaders to implement social change”? That doesn’t tell the reader what you do, that tells the reader what your organization’s desired result is. Are you empowering communities by offering after-school programs for the youth? Are you influencing the next generation of leaders by connecting them with mentors? Tell us that. People want to learn about the services you provide. When writing web copy, it’s crucial to know your audience. But if your goal for writing good copy is to attract a large audience, your message must be simple and direct. That’s what makes effective web copy. #opentowork #nonprofit #writingopportunities

Nonprofit CEO, do you use anecdotes or statistics to tell your impact story? 📖 There's a better way. You see the impact you and your staff make every day, through the real stories you hear and the smiles you see on the faces of those who come through your programs. It's exciting to see the changes your mission makes in the world but do you ever question if it's enough? Is it enough for funders? Your grant proposals? You know funders can't see what they can't experience. They may be skeptical of anecdotal stories coming from those who are asking for funds. But it's difficult to tell your story through numbers alone - your impact is not clear-cut. It doesn't have big fancy data to share. There's a solution you may not have considered, it's objective #QualitativeResearch. Qualitative research allows you to not just hear individual stories, but to see how they create patterns throughout your community. It allows you to measure softer shifts that your org makes in peoples' lives - increased hope, improved skills for dealing with challenges, and new beliefs that help them improve the world. Important things that matter to human livelihood. You need objective research to help you determine this, not anecdotes. Show your impact and all its nuances. Your org has an important story to tell so you can gain 💵 funding for even more impact. How are you currently telling your story?

I know I have met with folks who are developing / deploying tools that help nonprofits collect and share stories about their work. 😎 I need your products! I am hoping to develop a repository of research (academic) and stories (crowdsourced) to help with fundraising for future research and policy development. The budget is small and the programmatic data is already managed elsewhere. I need a simple input, output platform. Fundraising functionality need not muddle the story collection practice. Robust is not the solution in this case. Can you help me out? (see me making the ask below :) Thank you! #nonprofit #storytelling #stories #research #impact
