As fun as it is to look forward to 2024, we all likely spend some time reflecting on 2023. What was great? What could have been better? What did we learn? Well at Savor we’re pretty focused on food. What did we eat a lot of? What do we wish we’d eaten a lot of? What did we eat in '23 that we want to eat in '24? Our minds can be a little one-track sometimes. Flavor is kind of important to us. According to Restaurant Hospitality, oldies but goodies were popular in '23. Chef Don predicts that trend will continue in 2024. Global flavors like avocado, salsa roja, and duck sauce were specific favorites of diners. Cocktails and mocktails also featured heavily in what we were all looking for in 2023. Wine pairings have been associated with fine dining for decades (if not centuries). And while wine still certainly has its place at the dinner table, beer is revolutionizing both the drinking and the dining scenes. No longer just for the taverns, beer is being paired with foods from French fries to filets. And like with wine, it’s not just about drinking what you like: it’s about finding a beer that enhances the flavors of the food you’re eating and brings out the best in both the beverage and the nosh. https://lnkd.in/gc7qz7y2

If you are an Italian restaurant, deli, liquor store or any type of food serving business that sells pizza on your menu, check your categories and make sure you added "pizza restaurant." The drop in rankings is what happened when I tested removing "pizza restaurant" as a secondary category. Categories are linked to search queries. Without the appropriate category you may not be able to rank for specific keywords. #localseo #googlemaps

"High velocity items" on a restaurant menu refer to dishes or food items that are popular and sell quickly. These items contribute significantly to the restaurant's overall sales. High velocity items can vary based on factors such as cuisine, location, and target audience. Here are examples: Classic Comfort Foods: dishes that have broad appeal, such as burgers, pasta, or pizza. Appetizers and Shareables: finger foods or sharing platters like BSW mozzarella sticks are popular for groups and sell often. Specialty Drinks: Unique and well-crafted beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, or house-made sodas. During the Winter months some cocktail bars will put a Hot Toddy on the menu. Restaurants analyze data on these types of items, customer feedback, and market trends to understand which items perform well and use that information to refine their menus.
