Out now! Introducing a new kind of platform: Data integration & analysis platforms. Often overlooked, very relevant, especially concerning the monitoring of citizens. With a case study about Palantir Gotham. With Simon Egbert from Universität Bielefeld https://lnkd.in/dTqMgdya Insight: Data integration and analysis platforms have their own politics that affect the data sovereignty of organizations that use them, especially with regard to epistemic opacity and epistemic control. This research was conducted at the Stiftung Universität Hildesheim WZB Berlin Social Science Center Weizenbaum-Institut Part of a Special Issue about the same topic in Information, Communication & Society, including 9 interesting papers. https://lnkd.in/dYea7Dk7 The Special Issue was edited by Simon Egbert (Bielefeld University, Bielefeld, Germany) Vasilis Galis (IT University Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark) Helene Oppen Ingebrigtsen Gundhus (University of Oslo and Norwegian Police University College, Oslo, Norway)
