We examined the number of reviews for 86 major 5-star hotels in BANGKOK on BOOKİNG.COM and EXPEDIA.COM for January 2024 and August 2024. It is evident that January is busier compared to August. Therefore, we observe a total decrease of 15% in the number of reviews compared to January. Additionally, we can say that there has been a slight increase in reviews on Expedia for some hotels.

Here is an exciting project! Developing a cool and inclusive new lodging concept for Bangkok (and hopefully to roll out to the whole of Thailand) >> so please, may I ask for your help with a short market survey (15min)? We are looking forward to hearing from: - travellers who DID or WILL visit BANGKOK and/or THAILAND - ONLY individuals who typically look for 'an experience' (while abroad); the 'authentic' and 'local' (no 'booze' or 'sex tourists, thanks) - travellers who typically book upmarket hostels, boutique / lifestyle hotels (could potentially be glamping enthusiasts and AirB&B regulars also) - any 'regular' travellers (including weekenders), those on a gap year, 'digital nomads', professional travellers (inc. content creators) etc. This is a serious market research that will support our development of a new hospitality concept; so please, only answer if you fit within the target audience described as above (feel free to share). Thank YOU. https://lnkd.in/g87mah8S (please tick: 'ONLINE' when probed about your 'contact within our team') What's in it for you? 1/ your enthusiastic and key participation in defining some cool new place, 2/ showing the network ... works (and this platform), and 3/ become our VVIP for the opening events.

Following on from the list of the world's best hotels, I now have the list for Thailand, my home. When I don't see a hotel such as the Siam on the list I have to ask myself how it's compiled. I have come to the conclusion that the type of guests who visit the very best hotels, such as The Siam or the Mandarin Oriental or the Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve maybe just aren't the type of clients that review hotels on sites such as Trip Advisor. If this is the case, how can we ever compile a true list of the best properties? Do the very best hotels rely on these lists for business or is their reputation alone enough to keep occupancy high? https://lnkd.in/eSJWDmxQ
