On May 15, the U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan resolution recognizing National Hospital Week from May 12-18. This week serves as a time to honor the incredible work of hospitals, health systems, and the dedicated professionals who keep them running. Let's take a moment to appreciate the staggering impact hospitals have: - Over 6,120 hospitals across the US provide essential, life-saving care every single day. This network includes critical access facilities in rural areas, teaching hospitals nurturing future generations of medical professionals, and VA medical centers serving our veterans. - In 2023 alone, these hospitals provided care to millions: over 33 million admitted patients, nearly 137 million emergency care patients, and over 3.5 million newborns. - More than 5.4 million people are employed by hospitals, including doctors, nurses, and countless other staff working tirelessly to ensure 24/7 operations. Hospitals are the cornerstones of our healthcare system, and we're proud to stand with them! https://lnkd.in/e-Was-Mw

Being on multiple executive and hospital advisory boards - our lent support, feedback from the community at large, senior advocacy, and advice on better obtained outcomes....is something we at Golden Rule are used to - from our career days in radiology, home health, laboratories, and hospice.....we continue to be A COMMUNITY and CARE PARTNER too! ❤️💙🏨💙❤️ “National Hospital Week takes place during the week of Florence Nightingale’s birthday, which is on May 12, and will take place from May 12 to 18 this year. The holiday was established by the American Hospital Association to shine a spotlight on our many hospitals, health systems, and health care workers who strive to save lives daily. WHY NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK IS IMPORTANT 💙 To show appreciation This week is celebrated to show that we are grateful for the work of healthcare providers and hospitals. A simple word of thanks goes a long way. 💙 Healthcare providers save lives Healthcare is one of the most important professions in the world because they help preserve human life. Their contributions must be recognized. 💙 To spread positivity Sending thank-you notes and showing support helps spread positive energy. It shows that we are empathetic and care about other people’s contributions. HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK ❤️ Write a note of appreciation Receiving a handwritten note of appreciation can add that little personal touch. You can write a note to a specific health care provider or send a card to an entire department at the hospital. ❤️ Spread awareness Make sure the people around you are aware of this week and use this opportunity to appreciate the hospitals near them. ❤️ Volunteer Small local hospitals are constantly understaffed and might need your help. Go enquire at the nearest community hospital to see if there are ways you can assist. https://lnkd.in/eZs4UtE #HospitalWeek #CarePartners #CommunityPartners #SeniorAdvocacy #TheGoldenRule

On my way back home from the The Ohio Hospital Association Annual Conference. My flight's delayed (Thanks Delta Air Lines) so now I have more time to wax poetic about the conference. For those that are newer to my network, I've spent most of my career in clinical hospital and health system leadership until I pivoted to PointClickCare as the pandemic was winding down. Let me tell you, after being entrenched in the pandemic, it is so refreshing to talk about high reliability organizations, social media policies, and effective leadership once again. There's a lot happening in Ohio and there is an intentionality in how the state and individual health systems are tackling really complex healthcare problems. How do we actually calculate the cost of a readmission? How do we assign patients to hospitalists in a more geographic way to reduce inefficiencies and decrease length of stay? A lot of best practices were shared. At a more macro level, hospitals and state agencies are coming together to tackle complex public health issues like Maternal Health. At the Maternal Health summit, I learned what the Ohio Department of Children and Youth are doing to support prenatal and postpartum particularly with their visiting nurse program. I learned that about the Ohio Perinatal Collaborative. And, I learned that a key barrier in these initiatives are disparate stratified data and lack of knowledge of mothers accessing maternal health services in the emergency departments. The good news is that the state is funding these great initiatives. I love learning about these bottom-up and top-down approaches to improving the health of the most vulnerable populations. I think both are so needed, and I am excited to support key stakeholders in Ohio to improve healthcare access and deliver across the state!
We're excited to announce our official partnership with The Ohio Hospital Association to serve the needs and priorities of Ohio’s healthcare sector and communities. We've been serving the state's senior care population for years, becoming a trusted technology partner of skilled nursing facilities (#SNFs), and are proud to empower them with improved data sharing across the care collaboration network. For more details about the partnership, check out our press release here: https://bit.ly/3VvQPKE Or stop by Booth #47 at the 109th Ohio Hospital Association Annual Meeting and Education Summit from June 10-12, where we’ll be participating and exhibiting.

Our providers are actively dedicated to the community and to improving patient care. You can access her article at https://lnkd.in/giv8VpMT (You may only open it once before you have to pay for a subscription). Way to go Stacie!
