This week is Sands Awareness Week and we are helping to raise awareness about baby loss and the impact that it can have on the people affected. Currently in the UK, 13 families a day suffer the heartbreak of losing their baby before, during or shortly after birth (Sands). The campaign ‘Finding the Words’ aims to break the silence around pregnancy loss and baby death.#sandsawarenessweek #wellmindspts #findingthewords #babylossawareness

💔 Just before Christmas last year I had a miscarriage. Today the Department of Health and Social Care has shared the news that those who experience baby loss before 24 weeks can now apply for an official baby loss certificate. ⚪ I know this is going to help so many! Often, if you experience loss before 24 weeks you're made to feel 'lucky' because it was early. There is no record, just a sad bond you hold with your partner over the traumatic experience you have shared. It's absolute utter bullshit. There was still a positive pregnancy test, symptoms, scans, let alone the physical aspect of the loss itself. 💌 This certificate for me will be the final part of healing. I can officially acknowledge my loss. Although I have lots to say on miscarriage and why it's important to talk about it on a platform like this, today, I just want to share this monumental piece of news in case it can help someone else. 💝 #awareness #babyloss

🕊️ **Breaking the Silence: Talking About Babyloss in the Workplace** 🕊️ Babyloss is a deeply personal and often devastating experience, yet it remains a largely unspoken topic in many workplaces. As professionals, we must recognize the importance of addressing and supporting those who face such a loss. Here’s why it matters: 1. **Promotes Emotional Well-being:** Creating a supportive environment where employees feel comfortable sharing their experiences can significantly alleviate emotional stress. Empathy and understanding from colleagues and management can provide crucial support during such a difficult time. 2. **Fosters Inclusivity:** Acknowledging babyloss helps cultivate an inclusive culture. When we address all aspects of life, including the painful ones, we demonstrate our commitment to valuing each employee’s full humanity. 3. **Enhances Employee Engagement:** Employees who feel seen and supported are more likely to remain engaged and loyal. Knowing that their workplace cares about their personal challenges can significantly impact their morale and productivity. 4. **Encourages Open Dialogue:** Addressing difficult topics like babyloss can pave the way for broader conversations about mental health and well-being. This openness can lead to a healthier, more transparent workplace culture. 5. **Provides Necessary Resources:** When we openly discuss babyloss, we can better identify and provide the resources and support systems needed, such as counseling services, flexible leave policies, and peer support groups. Let’s break the silence and create a compassionate, supportive environment for all employees. Together, we can make a difference. 🌼 #WorkplaceWellbeing #MentalHealth #Inclusivity #Support #BabylossAwareness #EmpathyInTheWorkplace
