A recent CHCF survey reveals stark disparities in health care access for Central Valley residents. The recent symposium in Fresno brought together community leaders, health advocates, and experts to address the findings: • 56% believe their communities lack sufficient mental health providers • 48% carry medical debt (vs. 36% statewide) • 35% report increasing difficulty accessing affordable, quality care • 50% face unreasonable wait times for physical health appointments • 78% have a regular doctor (vs. 85% statewide) These findings underscore the urgent need for targeted solutions to improve health care access and affordability in the Central Valley. We recently held a poll asking what percentage of health outcomes are driven by SDoH. Low health literacy links to wider health disparities, posing a significant challenge despite ongoing efforts. Its impact is broadly seen across minority groups and is notably critical for Spanish-speaking populations. Digital Health tools will enable patient engagement and accountability in a manner that can reduce inequities in healthcare. Lets keep in mind the human centric design implications for both patients and providers, as an example. This article speaks to medication reminders.
