As a top trend driver, we continue to see double-digit growth in Inflammatory Conditions. With nearly half of these patients failing their initial therapy, it can lead to a long road of costly trial and error with irreversible disease progression. Our WellManaged Inflammatory Conditions program takes a comprehensive prior authorization approach to direct prescribers to the most appropriate therapy for each patient the first time. When patients receive the right medication from day one, it helps them get on track right away while avoiding waste for the plan – it’s a win-win! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eTFEr8iX

It's #BowelCancerAwarenessMonth #BowelCancer is a complex disease, and while early stages may seem straightforward to treat, diagnosis and care plans must be well-considered to avoid undesirable variations in care that may cause avoidable harm to patients. The #OneThing we find important is to have a team of experts involved in a patient's care plan to ensure a thorough understanding of the patient's condition and treatment options. A team-based approach increases the likelihood of patients receiving a personalised care plan.

What predicts whether patients are managing their kidney health? 1. Their Patient Activation Score (#PAM) 2. Frequency of kidney health discussions with their doctor These mattered more than their sex, race, or ethnicity. On its face, this is quite straightforward. The more patients and physicians discuss a condition, the more likely patients are to manage it. And the more #activated a patient is in managing their health, well, the more likely they are to manage it. And still, 2 in 3 patients who are at significant risk of kidney disease are not even aware that they are at risk. why? because a very large share of these patients do not recall ever discussing kidney health or kidney disease with their provider. If they are not aware of it, they can not manage it. It doesn't need to be this way. There is a lot we can do to change this paradigm. And there is a lot we at Phreesia are already doing. lets talk! Thank you to our partners at National Kidney Foundation, and my colleagues Stella Sechopoulos and Shanoor Seervai!
A new study from Phreesia and National Kidney Foundation has found that patient-provider discussions and patient activation play a significant role in detecting and preventing chronic kidney disease, one of the leading causes of death in the United States. These findings have huge implications for how to increase awareness, especially as new treatments become available to patients. What is YOPD? How is it diagnosed? Young people often have more involuntary movement problems due to the most commonly prescribed Parkinson’s disease medication, levodopa. For this reason, young onset patients are usually initially treated with alternatives to levodopa. Because the majority of people who get Parkinson’s disease are over the age of 60, the disease is often overlooked in younger people, leading many to go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for extended periods of time.
