𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙉𝙖𝙢𝙚, 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚. 𝗧𝗟;𝗗𝗥 – I am incredibly excited to have officially joined the Medline family as the General Manager of the Microtek & OEM Division, now that the sale of the business from Ecolab to Medline has closed. And I'm thrilled that we have the entire Ecolab surgical solutions team coming with us. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: About a year ago, we started a process to identify the best owner for the Ecolab surgical solutions business. It’s been one of the hardest, most developmental years imaginable. When you go through something this monumental, representing a team of 3500 strong in high-stakes meetings, it helps you reflect and clarify what’s important in your career. For me, it boiled down to 3 things: 𝟭) 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. The average person spends roughly 1/3 (90,000 hours) of their life working. What you work on, in my opinion, really needs to make a meaningful impact to get you motivated to bring your best every day. For me, and for many on our team, working in healthcare is a true passion. And helping hospitals around the world deliver safer, on-time surgeries is a career worth building. 𝟮) 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be a part of many world-class companies with strongly-held values. But when you’re leading 3500 teammates in a potential move, you must understand whether an acquirer’s core values and value proposition will work together with your culture. We were fortunate to find that in Medline, a company I believe can take our business and our talent to the next level. While the heavy lifting is just starting, Medline’s value prop and cultural values align so well that I’m confident we’ll make this next chapter a success. 𝟯) 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. For me, the people you surround yourself with are often the difference-makers between an average day and a great day. Let’s be honest: in the world of manufacturing and customer delivery, things don't always go perfectly. Who you go to battle with matters, especially on the hard days. I’m obviously biased, but we have an incredible team I’d go to battle with any day. And having Medline bring all 3500 Microtek & OEM associates over to join their 38,000 teammates makes us stronger than ever. 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗼!
