We are excited to feature Emma Belconis of Wellfit Technologies for today's Women Wednesday! -- Hello! My name is Emma Belconis. I am an accomplished HR leader with extensive experience in talent acquisition, people management, and organizational development. I am dedicated to breaking down the stereotypes that women face in the workplace, and over the years, I've honed my skills in creating and nurturing inclusive workplaces that foster growth, innovation, and employee well-being. By embodying these characteristics, I demonstrate that qualities often associated with women can be powerful assets in achieving career success. In my current role as Director of Human Resources at Wellfit Technologies, Inc., I had the unique opportunity to start our HR department from scratch. This involved creating policies, developing procedures, and growing the company from 20 to 80 employees in the last two years. I am passionate about leading by example and cultivating a positive company culture that emphasizes employee engagement. My approach integrates strategic planning with empathetic leadership, aiming to drive both individual and organizational success. My journey to HR was not a straight path. I began my career in Recreational Therapy and ABA Therapy, then transitioned to Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching before finally finding my place in HR. Each stop along the way allowed me to build essential skills and guided me towards my true calling. Through these diverse experiences, I learned the importance of perseverance and exploration. It's okay not to know exactly where you fit right away; the key is to keep trying new things until you discover what resonates within you. I am excited to be featured in ITC's Women Wednesday. This recognition underscores my commitment to driving positive change within the HR field and beyond. So many great learnings from watching this empowering panel: · In the era of AI, it’s important that you have a leader who can not only “read a piano”, but who can show up in front of an organization that’s just encountered a giant challenge, and inspire, motivate and engage people in a way that no computer, robot, or system could. We need to rethink work structures and expectations relative to productivity and performance rather than just in straight hours, because some of the more transactional parts of our job will be less likely to be done by us. · "As an empathetic leader, I lead with my heart and normalize crying when emotions come up. It’s ok to step out of the ways things previously worked." As an empathetic leader myself, I so connect with this quote and also believe in the first remark to help women obtain and keep positions of leadership. We shouldn't have to choose between a rewarding career and work-life balance or children. Grateful to work within an organization that gets this and alongside members that are all about helping people. Not to mention working with so many women who are absolute powerhouses! Wouldn't trade this job for anything <3

I like the increased workplace awareness and acceptance of neurodiverse talent. [ even though I know there is still a long way to go]. I had the privilege of working with one on a project and I can say, her brain is wired differently. Her views are unique, and her line of thought and solution are always in my blind spot. A Harvard report said that some teams with neurodiverse talent experienced up to 30% increase in productivity and I cannot agree more. The future of work is going to be an interesting place to be. Compared to men at the same level, women managers are taking more action to support and promote employee well-being—including checking on team members, helping them manage workloads, and providing support for those who are dealing with burnout or navigating work/life challenges. When managers support employee well-being, employees are happier, less burnt out and less likely to consider leaving their jobs. Getting closer to the end of the year means time for reflection. One of the highlights for me was the launch of the #SisterhoodisPower platform at Beiersdorf in Eastern Europe. Aim of this platform was to bring women together to connect, inspire & support each other. With the incredible #EmpowHER program developed by Danja Lekkerkerk & Mariola Wolters we were able to upskill almost 200 women in building self-confidence, improving work-life-balance and getting more resilience. In 6 sessions we worked on the following topics: 💪 Your best self – Living your values and what truly matters 🌸 Declutter your life – Your non-negotiables, setting priorities & time management 🙂 Take control of emotions – Dealing with stress and happy work-life-balance 🦸♀️ Be more confident – Growth mindset, breaking negative thoughts and leaving comfort zone 🙏 Take care of yourself – Setting boundaries, saying Yes to No and happy self care 🎯 Be more impactful – Your personal brand, Imposter Syndrome & speaking with confidence   The key insights I found for myself was that I can make more impact with working on the right priorities. It’s not about finishing my to-do list (which will never be finished anyway 😉) but to focus on the topics that really make a difference. This all happened online from 11 different countries. Danja & Mariola, big thank you again for your enthusiasm, positive drive and energy along the way. It’s not easy to do this in an online setting, but you proofed that it can work. The physical workbook that you developed was also amazing and a real value add to the overall program. Also a big thank you to Martina Treiblmeier who supported in the coordination of the sessions and the recordings. From our employee engagement survey we could see that the overall engagement of female colleagues in EE went up vs last year and is now on the same level as our male colleagues. I have not done a statistical analysis on this but I truly believe that this fantastic #EmpowHER program contributed to higher engagement of our women. Cannot wait to continue with our mission in 2025 💖
