As a seasoned Salesman, I've noticed a glaring gap in resources dedicated exclusively to FMCG sales in my years of experience. Recognizing this need, I am compelled to bridge the void with valuable insights and content. I hope this helps the newbies in the FMCG Space. I will start with some basic FMCG wordings or Terminologies. 1. FMCG: Simply mean, Fast moving consumer goods. FMCG generally include a wide variety of frequently purchased products such as toothpaste, shampoo, soap, cosmetics, hair oil, detergent, beverages as well as other non-durables such as plastic goods, LED bulbs, paper&stationery etc. One of the major characteristics of FMCG is it's low unit value with high volume potential. That is, it move fast on retail sellings. A good examples of an FMCG Companies includes: Unilever, Nestlé, P&G, PepsiCo etc. 2. NUMERIC DISTRIBUTION: Numeric distribution terms in the FMCG sales is the number (or percentage) of outlets where company’s products is present. (i.e, Outlets that have at least one sku of a brand). For example, at how many outlets a company's product are available is measured by numeric distribution. 3. WEIGHTED DISTRIBUTION: Weighted distribution in FMCG Sales is the percentage of the total sales volume that comes from the served outlet. For example, if you have 10 outlets in a beat, now out of these 10 outlets if your product is present in 4 outlets, then numeric distribution is 40%. If that 4 outlets contributes 75% of your total sales, in that case weighted distribution would be 75%. In nutshell, Numeric distribution gives you an idea of the reach of distribution whilst weighted gives you an idea of quality of distribution. #Sales #Salesmanagement#FMCG. To be continue...
