There is no problem in this world for which there is not an answer.
Every problem has a solution that has yet to be revealed.
I believe this so strongly, even as my faith is often challenged with the things that I see. Like babies, kids, mothers dying.
Why Lord why?
Yet, I hold fast to my belief in God’s love for us, inspite of the difficulty and pain seen in this world.
I had a conversation this week with Neonatologist famous for talking about the importance of how we have difficult conversations with families, Dr. Anthony Orsini. Anthony Orsini, D.O.
We talked about the importance of validating a family’s experience, because as physicians and other members of the Healthcare team, we are forever linked in the minds of families with both good and bad experiences.
Everyone in Healthcare must learn the best way to have a conversation with families around delivering bad news and having difficult conversations.
Because it is part of the job. And the way we do it matters.
I know God has graced me in this area. Because I don’t shy away from this importance.
Even as I have to protect my own mental health and heart, I actually see it as a privilege to be able to help a family during a most difficult time in their lives.
It is why I love working in the NICU.
The Bible says rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn.
This scripture represents the duality of life: there is no joy without sorrow. No sunshine without rain.
I believe it is my acceptance of this fact that propels me to see the good despite the bad, and practice gratitude in the midst of dissatisfaction.
And no matter what, I persist in my determination to live a purpose driven life. ❤️
