AIR VENTS and LIQUID DRAINERS from Valve and Flow Controls Specialists. Air vents are installed at high points in closed liquid systems such as tanks, pipelines and HVAC systems. They remove air upwards automatically and close once the liquid fills the unit. Removing air from the system reduces internal corrosion, improves fluid flows, preventing pipework ot valve damage, alleviates pump cavitation and reduces system noise. In HVAC systems they can be in poly or cast iron or stainless materials. In Petro-chemical applications they are mostly stainless steel. Liquid drainers are located at opposite positions to air vents. LD’s are installed at low points on air or gas storage systems / pipelines. They flow downwards removing liquid automatically from the system and close off once drained. Removing the liquid and sludge is beneficia to the flow dynamics particularly in high pressure gas pipelines. The majority of Air vents and Liquid Drainers are float types that give constant drainage as required.
