I joined our “OG” Chicago branch in 2017 when I was just a little 21-year-old baby looking for a place to settle! I started out as a Start Tech and worked my way up to a Reg Tech, Field Manager, Service Manager, Operations Manager, and now a General Manager of the Chicago North Branch! 🎉 🔹 What is your favorite part of your job? Everyone thinks it’s cheesy when managers or employers say this, but it truly is the people I work for. 🛡️💙 I love coming in each day with the goal to genuinely help my employees. I pride myself on creating as diverse and inclusive atmosphere as possible at my branch and our employees truly feel it! 🔹 What's one thing you would tell someone who was thinking about working at EcoShield? Do it. Even if you have some doubts, push those away and just do it. 💪 🔹 If you could pick just one, what would your "spirit bug" be? Hmmm. I would have to choose a honey bee! 🐝 I am super docile and just want to do my job all day every day! I won’t sting, as long as you don’t come after me or my people. 😜 🔹 Who would win in a fight: you or a Tarantula Hawk Spider Wasp? Pshhh it only sounds scary. Just give me a 25-foot pole and I’ll knock their nest right down no sweat. 😅 Maybe give me a bee suit first... or at least a can of wasp freeze. 😂 🔹 What's your secret talent/a fun fact about you? I have an identical twin sister! We are both managers in pest control. 🐜🚫 Not only is it rare to have women in pest control, but two identical twins is crazy! To be a fly one the wall at our family gatherings... it’s quite entertaining so I’ve been told. I guess it runs in the family! 👯 🔹 What is one word you would use to describe EcoShield? Life-Changing. 🙌

Today I am celebrating one full week at my new job, and finally checking something off my to-do list! 🎉 Starting a new job or project comes with so many large tasks, that it's hard to find small things to check off along the way. It's a process of familiarizing yourself with everything and figuring out where in the world to begin. For me, it's important to have those small, tangible accomplishments as reminders that even if I haven't reached the main goal, I am well on my way. How do you decide where to start when you have an overload of ideas and goals?

We all want that recognition We all want to climb that ladder We all want to crush that next big project But... How you do it is more important than the end result. Because in the end nobody remembers -How much you got paid -How much bonus you got -How many hours you worked -How many awards did you get Instead... People will remember -How you made them feel -How accountable you were -How well you worked as a team -How much fun you had along the way At the end of the day, what truly matters are the awesome relationships and friendships that were built along the way! The great first impression in your job is when your role and tasks are assigned and you then perform them well while trying to learn about your responsibilities and the different aspects of the tasks related to your role, which makes you appear more comp.

Lately things haven’t been exactly “easy”. Not that it’s supposed to be but it’s important to acknowledge so we know how to move forward. During hard times we question our ability to be effective in jobs that are indicative of we what do both inside and outside of our professions. Then there are reminders…these reminders never fail to remind is of who we are and why we do what we do in every aspect of life. These reminders push us to keep going when those doubts begin to infiltrate the borders of our mind. While packing up somethings for my upcoming move (fun fact, I hate moving) - I came across a reminder from my days working with Target. I always say that I don’t regret working there. They taught me a lot and what I learned there will stick with me forever. This letter was given to me someone on my team when I left my role as team leader at my last store as a gift; a reminder of who I am.

I heard something the other day and before today I would never have given it a second though. The question was asked, “what is the worste thing you ever did.” The response shook me. “I became important. I did such a good quality job that I became important.” All my career to date all I wanted was to make a difference. Do such a good job that the company would appreciate and when it came time for promotion etc it would be without question. To instill the trust that I can get the job done. To me this was the conerstone of who I was. Work with everyone, help everyone, see everyone as your customer and remember the customer is always right. Then it happened. I was seen. I became trusted and now important to what I do and some days I don’t know what to do with that. Some days I sit here thinking how do I do it now. How do I get this done on time and under budget. Trust in my colleagues, trust my team. That is how you do it. Ask the hard question. Talk to them, be clear on your needs and timelines and then trust them to do what they do

A: I can peel a banana with my feet! Q: What is your favorite TV show? A: I am a sucker for The Real Housewives on Bravo. Q: What led you to this career? A: I worked in property management for several years and always worked closely with Servpro. I was ready for a career change and knew that Servpro was such a great company to work with. When I found out they had job openings, I jumped at the opportunity to apply! Q: What is your favorite part about working at SERVPRO Team Marchese? A: We have the BEST team of people! I truly love what Team Marchese stands for and their core values. It feels good to be a part of such a wonderful team that is able to help others in their time of need. Q: Where are you from? A: I was born and raised in Sioux City, IA. Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be? A: I am a nervous Nelly when it comes to traveling, so I would love to have the ability to teleport. Q: What is your process or secret to turning a bad day into a good one? A: I try to focus on the positive, and also play my favorite 80s jams! 80s jams always brighten my day!

How long have you been working with NASCENT?: 1 year and 8 months now (20 months) Favorite memory at NASCENT?: Our last Holydays Party at "Top Golf" - That was FUN! What does a typical day look like for you?: I usually start at 7:30AM by digging through some emails and Teems messages and reviewing my tasks and setting up a goal for a day. We also have our daily stand-up meeting in the morning to report and/or resolve any blockers. Day goes on with fulfilling tasks and performing our best as a team to deliver best possible product. Favorite part of the job?: My favorite part would be to communicate and collaborate with my team members, to resolve an issue or generate a solution. That is an exciting part of my job. Do you have any advice for anyone working at Nascent?: Remember that a job, even a great job or a fantastic career, doesn’t give your life meaning, at least not by itself. Life is about what you learn, who you are or can become, who you love and are loved by.
