Career pathways in Social Housing. Making a difference to the community while building yourself a dynamic career! Here’s a brief overview of a career path: Starting Out: You are likely to start out in an entry-level post such as a Tenancy Support Officer, Housing Assistant, Customer Service Adviser, or Housing Administrator. These roles provide a solid foundation in understanding the housing sector. Gaining Experience: As you gain experience within the role, you will be able to advance to become a Housing Officer, Senior Housing Officer or Team Leader, based on experience and training. This involves taking on more responsibilities and managing larger portfolios of properties dealing directly with tenants and local community. Specialization: You could then specialize in an area of housing, Homelessness or Anti-Social Behaviour. Specialization allows you to focus on specific issues within the housing sector, providing targeted support to those who need it most. Management Roles: Progress into management roles, such as a Housing Manager or Director of Housing Services. These roles involve strategic planning, overseeing housing policies, and managing teams. Remember, every career path is unique - this is just a general guide. I am currently recruiting a variety of roles in Social Housing. Email your updated CV to wendy.temlett@reed.com for a constant update of great new job opportunities - we have exciting new roles coming in daily! #jobsinsocialhousing #socialhousingcareers

Hi connects!! I just wanted to share my work experience certificate from Reading Borough Council 😆 From this great work experience, I was able to gain insight on how roles and parts of the council function to help parts of Reading! This was definitely interesting as I was able to do many different tasks and activities! As my work experience was based in housing I was able to: Arrange important meetings with tenants and brainstorm ideas on what could be improved for housing provided by the council! We also had to think of ways on how we can attract more diverse tenants to help out with different roles in housing. (Diverse in age, gender and race!) There were different responsibilities within this experience and it allowed me to understand how the council has so many different jobs!

The latest August state #employment/unemployment and July #job openings (JOLTS) figures were released this week so I thought I'd compare which states have the most job openings and as a fraction of the number of job seekers. Texas, California, Florida, and New York have the largest number of job openings, but only #Florida has more job openings than the number of unemployed, with 144,554 more openings than unemployed or 1.4 openings per job seeker. Meanwhile, there is about 1 job opening per job seeker in #Texas (-4,992 fewer openings) and fewer openings than jobs in #California (-397,993) and New York (-20,778). #Virginia is another state where employment opportunities abound, with 2.1 openings per job seeker, but the number of openings are just about half the number in Florida. #NorthDakota and #SouthDakota also have more than 2 job openings per job seeker but the number of job openings is not as grand in magnitude (about 20,000) as in Florida. What does this mean for the real estate market? We could see continued #migration out of California and New York into Florida not only among retirees, but younger folks looking for a job. Florida's strong job market and sustained migration flows means more demand for housing and commercial real estate -- retail, industrial, and office/medical buildings. Over the period August 2019-August 2024 (pre-pandemic to post pandemic), Florida created nearly a million jobs (987,000) and job creation is still strong, and the unemployment rate of 3.3% is below the national rate of 4.2%. At the county level, job creating is outpacing the national rate (1.3%) as of 2024 Q1: Miami-Dade (2.5%), Broward (1.4%), Palm Beach (1.7%), Martin (2.0%), and St. Lucie (1.9%) https://lnkd.in/eZJ6WNhm Miami Association of Realtors MIAMI Commercial

Navigating the job market is a challenge, but for those of us with disabilities, it can often feel like an uphill battle. Despite my extensive experience in camp design, construction, and management, I’ve faced countless obstacles in securing a new role. Yet, I remain hopeful and focused on the positives. Every setback is an opportunity to grow stronger and more resilient. I’ve learned to adapt, innovate, and find new ways to contribute. My journey has taught me the true meaning of perseverance and the importance of community support. I'm actively seeking new opportunities in the following areas: - Camp Design and Construction - Camp Management - Remote Logistics Support - Procedural Development - Contract Management - Quality Assurance To all my fellow job seekers and professionals, keep pushing forward. Our unique experiences and perspectives are invaluable.
