Every school district in Louisiana has its nuances, especially regarding special education. Recognizing and embracing these differences is what drives my work. 💡 Targeted Support for Meaningful Change Specializing in Special Education Professional Development, I work closely with districts to enhance the educational journey for students with disabilities. Administrators, where is the balance of supporting teachers with behavior without taking on the role of disciplinarian for the entire building? The key is establishing a culture of discipline that empowers both teacher and student. If the administrators are handling all of the discipline, it will become all they do on a daily basis.

Secondary School Specialists - have you noticed that some members of staff are very aware that today is Friday? And not just for the usual reasons (phew!) but because they are planning to offer subtle additional support for pupils who may struggle at weekends. This is particularly true of some Form Tutors who will ensure that those pupils know that a warm greeting will be waiting on Monday morning. School leaders: is such awareness down to Form Tutor training, 'natural' empathy or experience? Is this the exception or the norm in your school?

I had a fantastic last two days filled with fun and growth with Erie School District in Illinois. Over the course of two days we had: ✅ Middle School Staff Training ✅ Middle School Student Training ✅ High school Staff Training ✅ High School Student Training ✅ High School Athletic Team Training It was great to work with this community of dedicated administrators, faculty, support staff, students, and athletes. It is 8.45am in the UK as I post this update. So many school pupils will be feeling anxious about the new week. So many pupils will feel excited. So many will feel relieved.
