It’s never too early to demonstrate compassion! Recently, Evan, 4, son of WesleyLife Vice President of Philanthropy Sophia S. Ahmad, MBA MM, began saving a portion of his allowance to donate to WesleyLife Meals on Wheels. Not only did he proudly present his contribution to the Meals on Wheels team, but he joined his mother in delivering meals to older adults and military veterans in the Des Moines Metro. Judging from the smiles, we’re sure our clients enjoyed his visit as much as he did. Thank you, Evan, for your generosity! #healthandwellbeing #mealsonwheels #philanthropy #compassion

It's #NationalDonutDay! What's your favorite kind of donut? Let us know in the comments. Every year on the first Friday of June, Americans celebrate National Donut Day to honor the Salvation Army Lassies, the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during the First World War to lift their spirits. This tradition began in Chicago in 1938. We "donut" know what we would do without all of our wonderful clients! #GJMAccounting #accountingandaccountants #smallbusiness

On Veteran’s Day, we thank all those who have served our Country. Here are 8 Ways to Say 'Thank You Veterans' on Veterans Day 🇺🇸 1. Say "Thank You Veterans" by Showing Up – find and attend your local Veterans Day parade 2. Donate to Veteran-Focused Charities – Check out Wounded Warrior, Operation Second Chance, Freedom Service Dogs of America 3. Fly a Flag – Correctly. Checkout miliary.com to learn the proper rules for displaying the American Flag 4. Ask Someone About Their Service. Chances are, they will want to share with you. 5. Write a letter to say "thank you veterans". Visit the Soldiers of Angels website to learn more 6. Don't Confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day. Veterans Day is a time to thank those who are serving or have served and are still with us. Memorial Day is to reflect and remember those who lost their lives in service to their country. Confusing the two or combining the two diminishes the importance of both. 7. Visit a VA Hospital - Many VA facilities will have events on Veterans Day or a special lunch you can help prepare. 8. Get Outdoors with a Veteran - Invite a veteran or a military family to explore a national park; admission is free for all visitors on Veterans Day. Being outside helps improve physical and mental health, boosts emotional well-being and is a great way to celebrate the day with a veteran. ❤️🤍💙 #childfamilycenter #veteransmentalhealth #veteransday

Today, as we celebrate Memorial Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true essence of this day. → It's not just about barbecues and long weekends. → It's about remembering the brave souls who fought for our freedom. → It's about honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. A few thoughts on how we can honor our heroes: → Take a moment to remember and honor the fallen soldiers. Their bravery and sacrifice have given us the freedom we enjoy today. → If you know a veteran or someone who has lost a loved one in service, share their stories. Keeping their memory alive is the least we can do. → Find ways to support veterans and their families. This could be through donations, volunteering, or simply lending a listening ear. Let’s not forget: → Freedom isn't free. It comes at a great cost. → Today is a day to remember those who paid that cost with their lives. → Let’s honor them by appreciating the freedoms we have and by striving to make this world a better place in their memory. P.S. - How are you honoring Memorial Day today? #memorialday

This weekend I saw a lot businesses posting "Happy Memorial Day!" content. "Come out to Rudy's Bar and celebrate the long holiday weekend with us, we're selling $5 orange crushes all day long!" Memorial Day is to remember the hundreds of thousands of military members who gave the ultimate sacrifice and never came home to their families. Asking people to come to your restaurant to "celebrate the holiday" feels really wrong for Memorial Day. Are we forgetting what it's really about? Here are a few ways you can post on social or email your customers about Memorial Day that honors the military members and their families: 1. Share a link to an organization that helps families of fallen soldiers asking for donations, like the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation 2. Donate 10% of your proceeds on Memorial Day to a reputable organization like the Wounded Warrior Project 3. Highlight a veteran who works at your company and thank them for their service 4. Offer a 20% discount to all active military members to thank them for their service 5. Be like Born Primitive (pictured below) and don't ask anything of your customers, simply post about Memorial Day in a way that honors the fallen. They also shared a really great video on their Instagram and Facebook pages to remind everyone of the true meaning of Memorial Day. Please take a moment to watch it, I'll link it in the comments. #MemorialDay #Military #HonorTheFallen

Slow down for a minute. Contemplate the enormous blessings we all have and the role freedom plays in our lives. It’s hard to comprehend living in a country that oppresses its people and stifles creativity, dreams and promise of a fulfilling life. Thank you to those who’ve won our freedom and to those who help preserve it. Paul Jankowski Veterans Day is only 25 days away. 8 Ways to Say 'Thank You Veterans' on Veterans Day… 1. 🌟 Honoring the Unseen Heroes: The Legacy of Military Children 🌟 These young heroes grow up in a world that's constantly changing, with challenges that many of us can only imagine. Yet, their strength, adaptability, and sense of duty are nothing short of inspiring. Research and anecdotes alike tell us that children of military personnel are significantly more likely to follow in their parents' footsteps and serve their country. This isn't merely a coincidence; it's the result of a unique upbringing that instills values such as loyalty, honor, and a profound sense of service from a very young age. Military children witness firsthand the sacrifices made for national security and are imbued with a deep understanding of what it means to commit to a cause greater than oneself. By supporting USA Cares, you can help keep these military-connected children safe remain safe and with their families. Join us in changes lives by donating today.
