Wessex Water’s Post

Our £35 million investment to expand the water recycling centre at Saltford has reached an important milestone. Throughout 2024, our team on site has made significant progress, including building a 100-metre-long activated sludge treatment plant. So far, we have moved over 300,000 tonnes of earth and by the end of January 2025 more than 4,500 cubic metres of concrete will have been poured. We are also testing the new structures with more than 12 million litres of reused effluent, equivalent to filling five Olympic-sized swimming pools. The two-year construction will boost the capacity of the site to treat sewage from a growing population of the city of Bath and the surrounding area. #investment #water #sewerage #environment #improvements #infrastructure #saltford #waterrecyclingcentre #wessexwater
