This week is Hurricane Preparedness Week, observed every year in May. As hurricane season rapidly approaches, we encourage you to take steps now to prepare. Safety begins before the threat is imminent! Be sure you have an evacuation plan and are stocked up with emergency supplies including medications and fresh water. Consider creating a communication plan so family and friends know you are safe. If you need materials to strengthen your home (plywood, shutters, sandbags etc.), purchasing them before a hurricane is predicted will ensure you have what you need when the time comes and avoid sold out materials.
