Corporate organizations are in a position to dynamically impact their communities. Huge thank you to Lancaster County Motors, Inc. for their incredible support of Meals on Wheels of Lancaster and our community as a whole! While you might think that donating funds is the most important part of that impact, there are actually multiple ways corporate organizations truly transform the communities they are in. Here are a few examples: 1. Allow employees to volunteer. Some organizations actually pay employees to volunteer at least 8 hours a year. Others let employees take time off to support volunteering efforts. Some go so far as to coordinate the event and encourage all employees to participate. Find a way that works best for your organization. 2. Bring exposure to community partners. Social media posts and other marketing efforts harness your brand to support community impact. 3. Host community partners at your facility. If you have space, non-profits are often needing locations to host fundraising events and hold meetings. Your space can do good too! For organizations that have large and robust PIFs, the benefits are significant, and they are still coming in. We took a random look at some actual PIFs and found that the charitable remainder amounts distributed to their sponsoring charities are astounding. Since PIFs can only distribute net income, and since interest rates have been relatively low for decades, there seems to be no appeal anymore.
