From first hand accounts of the Great Fire of Northampton, to the signatures Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, the Northamptonshire Archives Service conserves and safeguards the county's most important historic records. It houses books, diaries, maps plans and photographs on an incredible eight miles of shelving - charting the rich history of the county from the 12th Century through to modern times. Congratulations to the service on receiving the Archive Service Accreditation. This national accolade recognises their commitment to preserving, conserving and making the documentary archives accessible to the public.
