As our freshly appointed Nutrition Services Supervisor, Charlotte Green has been hired to whisk up nutritious menus, spice up our kitchens, and serve our students the best! She has a background in school nutrition since 2021, and we recently caught up with Charlotte to ask a few questions and welcome her to the team. - If I could compete in the Olympics, my sport of choice would be… track and field. The athletes are so inspiring, and they really give everything they have to their sport! - I beat the summer heat by… being in the mountains. - I can’t start my day without… toast and tea. - In this new position, I am most excited to… help ensure students are fed and ready to learn! #WVSDcelebratesstaff

For aspiring collegiate sports dietitians, the current landscape in most programs requires the sports dietitian to do operations-catering etc. Ask during your interview how much of the position is food service. If you love food service, it might be a great fit. If not consider other avenues

If your teen athlete is training or competing most days of the week, they need to eat a LOT. Not only do they need enough food to support their physical activity, but they also need to eat enough for proper growth and development. Don't be surprised if your son or daughter eats more than you. They probably should. If they're not eating at least 3 meals and 2 snacks per day, they're likely under eating. Grab my free Meal Timing Guide for Young Athletes to learn the ins and outs of when and what to eat before, during, and after training to maximize performance and recovery. https://lnkd.in/e8VdAZvD

I think this might just be one of my favourite examples to demonstrate how working with the Business Partership Team at Dundee and Angus College can help businesses dive deeper into the their challenges and think differently when it comes to solutions Heres a glimpse of an innovative collaboration between Dundee and Angus College and Balhousie Care 🌟 Together, we've crafted a bespoke nutrition course tailored for the unique needs of care residents. This partnership, built on years of providing top-tier traditional care qualifications, showcases the power of creative thinking in training. By teaming up with a Skills Advisor and diving deep into the challenges faced by the business, it became clear that the solution extended beyond traditional care training we were already providing. To ensure that residents who struggled to chew and swallow food were happy and healthy they needed meals that were not only nutritious but also easy to consume. 🍽️ The result? A specialised course for kitchen staff in care homes designed by our incredible hospitality department, equipping the team at Balhouse Care Group with the skills to prepare meals that are high in nutrition but low in choking risk. A great example of how we can add that extra layer and probe that little bit deeper so we are really getting to the root cause of your challenges and thinking differently when it comes to solutions. Reach out to the team and they can not only support with a training needs analysis but also with access to funding to help pay for training 💰 #BespokeTraining #CollaborationSuccess #Skills
