Early on in my career as an executive New York City recruiter, I learned that nobody, but nobody, was going to advocate for me. ⚒️ I was the hardest worker. ❌ I never said no. ⏱️ I put in the most hours. 🌟 I was incredible in my role. But after getting passed over and taken for granted a couple of times early on, I realized that my peers and superiors weren’t going to sing my praises from the rooftops and demand salary increases on my behalf. Flash forward to 2025. You're now in Illinois, and the trend continues. Within 14 days of a position being advertised externally, every employee will know about the potential promotion.
