🇨🇦 Canadian 🇨🇦 Mining ⛏️ News 🗞️ Fokus Mining Corporation (TSXV: FKM) Provides Exploration Update on the Galloway #Gold Project Jean Rainville, CEO and President, says: “We hope to be able to increase the resource on Moriss. Furthermore, with our tests on Fayolle we are now moving out of the areas where we have been concentrating. The goal is not only to evaluate Fayolle with these drill holes but also to investigate the potential extensions of Hurd. In fact, a 417-metre-long hole should also provide information on another copper-gold target to the north-west. Core logging was completed for this program last week and we expect to receive some of the assays before the end of the month.” Jean Rainville also said: “As indicated in our press release of December 4, 2023, we expect to resume another minimum 1,500-metre diamond drilling campaign towards the end of the month. via Mining.com.au Black Canyon Limited plans to stay in the East Pilbara for the long-term but will evaluate opportunities in #manganese within other jurisdictions as they arise. Executive Director Brendan Cummins tells Mining.com.au the company will in the meantime continue to explore its other tenements with capital deployment planned to undertake further prospectivity analysis. This will be through the integration of multiple datasets and importantly boots on ground evaluations. “Once targets have been assessed then further detailed exploration will be planned that might include ground geophysical surveys and drilling.” The Executive Director says the current market fundamentals look solid for manganese – which is the fourth-most used metal – which bodes well for #BCA given the type of manganese it will produce. We knew there was a gold occurrence related to the Moriss shear zone and we were pleasantly surprised by the discovery of another mineralized system in another direction. There are no sure bets in junior mining exploration but it’s easier with experienced management and a nearby existing deposit with proven past high-grade #gold production. Take the gold-rich Campbell Shear as a Canadian Shield example. Nestled near Yellowknife, NWT, the region is a geological treasure trove that has yielded over 14 million ounces between 15 to 22 grams per ton (g/t) of gold within a five-kilometer stretch. The Campbell Shear is where to find the Con Mine Option (CMO) property, host to the former Con Mine, which contributed a significant 6.1 million ounces of gold between 1938 and 2003. Canada’s Gold Terra Resource Corp. (TSX-V:YGT, OTCQX:YGTFF) is aiming to unlock the rest of the resources at the CMO property located south of the town of Yellowknife, and along the extensive 70-kilometer-long Campbell Shear structure.
