The Medical Professional Education Department (MPED) at MetroHealth invites you to join us Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10 for A World of Hurt: A Guide to Classifying Pain. Join other healthcare professionals for during a two-day course in which participants will learn a variety of topics, including:
- Differentiating subjective and objective clinical characteristics for nociceptive, peripheral neurogenic, central sensitization, affective and motor/autonomic pain mechanisms.
- Using the Yellow Flag Risk Form high question patterns to individualize pain science education.
- Understanding the need for self-rated outcome measures and psychometric measures for central nervous system pain mechanisms.
- Classifying dominating pain mechanisms using PMCS with paper and video patient cases.
- Prescribing active exercise and patient education for peripheral and central nervous system pain mechanisms.
