🔍 COMM'ON 2023 | overview Petra Tilos, a partnership with a community #PetraTilos aims to mobilize and educate the community of Tilos on the history, the environmental impact, the restoration and possible reuse of dry stone constructions found on the island. 📌 Petra Tilos aims to be a collective initiative that will, in the following months, engage the community of Tilos in many more projects and activities around drystone constructions! 📅 The project will evolve from November 2023 till March 2024 and aims to develop 3 main activities: ✅ Research and record oral history narrations from 3 generations of Tilos residents that work or have worked with stone techniques. ✅ Design and implement a 5 day workshop "Tilos School of Dry Stone" where local participants will learn restoration techniques and restore part of an old path. ✅ Create a digital platform to present all found material and collective processes. COMM'ON is collaborating with Πέτρα Τήλος - Petra Tilos team to co-design the community engament process and to support all participatory and collective processes along the way. South Africa is experiencing a shift—with growing confidence in its people and products attracting global attention. Here are two key reasons why I invest: - Our People: This video shows the spirit of Ubuntu—community and collaboration—which drives innovation and quality in South African workplaces, making our products stand out globally. - High-yield Opportunities: The FTSE/JSE SA Listed Property Index (SAPY) posted a strong 10.1% return last year, making it worth exploring current performance which has further increased [SAPY Index]. As a chairman of a local board of zoning appeals, I regularly hear, "That business has a huge roof, make them put solar panels up there instead of creating new solar farms." Not so fast, folks. Phil Dregger, PE, RRC explains how to do this in a responsible fashion this week. Be sure to catch his presentation!

VP Marketing & Customer Ops @ Arbo | Data-driven insights on energy infrastructure permitting, policy, and project development
Last Thurs, FERC rejected a rehearing request challenging the extension order for MVP Southgate, which argued Mountain Valley’s contemplation of a redesign constituted project abandonment and that the Commission needed to assess whether the redesigned project was required by the public convenience and necessity. The Commission explained that because Mountain Valley had not yet submitted an application to amend the project, the details were speculative, and that MVP still holds precedent agreements for the original project, validating its determinations on project need and environmental analysis. #FERC noted that it is not out of the ordinary for project sponsors to amend certificated projects, and that if an application to amend Southgate were filed, staff would evaluate its environmental impacts and the need for the revised project. Once an application to amend the project is filed, we can surely expect more challenges... which Arbo will cover on our free web blog and Linkedin newsletter.
