With Connected London WiFi, anyone living, working, or visiting Westminster will soon enjoy seamless free public Wi-Fi through a single sign-on system 📶 Supported by the Mayor of London, this initiative is currently being trialled at 50 locations across the city, including popular areas like Strand Aldwych, street markets such as Berwick Street and Maida Hill Market, as well as libraries and community centres. This is a great innovation that can support businesses, access to public services, address the digital poverty gap, and increase public safety. I hope the Ts&Cs include a commitment not to sell users’ data.

We have been talking about broadband/wifi as a public owned utility service for some time now. In today’s wirkd sndceven more in the future it’s a strategic asset at the moment controlled by a few. GLA seems to move in the right direction to provide a potential alternative.
