At Community Bank Buninyong, we’re proud to support the incredible work of the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation helping local students gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. 💖 Our funding has helped provide tutors for their After-School Literacy Tutoring Program, which runs four nights a week during school terms. With the disruptions caused by Covid lockdowns, this program has been a lifeline for students to catch up and thrive. 🌟 Aboriginal Literacy Foundation representative Christine Beswick said "This program fills students with hope for a bright future, and we couldn’t do it without support from organisations like Community Bank Buninyong". "We are encouraged to see the students improving in their literacy skills and confidence in themselves", she said. 💡 The Impact: ✅ Students are improving their literacy and numeracy skills in an Indigenous-friendly environment. ✅ Their confidence is soaring, empowering them to embrace education and aim high. ✅ The program fosters stronger connections between students, their schools and families. "Why should Youth be #LeadingSDG4?" This is my why: As the Founder of Catering to Africans In Need (CAIN), I have mobilized over $200,000 and collaborated with more than 10 organizations and 200 youths across three continents to implement over ten transformative educational programs. These initiatives have empowered underprivileged African students with quality education and essential skills to break free from poverty and achieve global competitiveness. Among our most notable accomplishments is the establishment of a state-of-the-art community educational center in Lagos, Nigeria's largest underserved community, which provides FREE education and access to learning resources. Youth believe in a better future and youth are already taking action to achieve this future. We urge stronger partnerships with young people to incorporate diverse perspectives, foster innovation, and ensure inclusive, effective education systems that meet global learners' evolving needs. A moment that made me pause and reflect... Today, as I passed by a Bank of Abyssinia branch, I witnessed these young students searching through a trash can, looking for pens. It struck me deeply. This simple moment reminded me of the many ways our education system still falls short in empowering the future generation. It's not just about access to schools, it's about access to the tools and resources that allow children to succeed. A pen something so small should never be a barrier for any child. While there are many efforts to improve our educational infrastructure, moments like this remind us that there is still so much more to be done. We, as a society, need to do more than talk about change. We need to act, to support, to invest in the dreams and potential of every child. If our children are searching for a pen today, what will they be searching for tomorrow? Let this image remind us of our shared responsibility to nurture the next generation. At Project LENSED, we believe in empowering communities through skill-building and education. The OIC's key priorities are to: • Identify and dismantle systemic barriers in advancement.  • Establish Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging acumen in the advancement profession. • Aid historically under-resourced institutions and Indigenous communities. • Cultivate and grow a diverse advancement pipeline for the profession.
