Happy National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month!💚 In 2008, Congress nationally declared July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Bebe Moore Campbell was a passionate mental health advocate who worked hard to end harmful stigmas and improve access to mental health services, especially in underserved communities of color. Mental health awareness is crucial and affects us all. Everyone deserves access to resources, care, and support for mental health. May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to elevating the conversation around mental health and destigmatizing mental illness. Since 1949, this month has served as a beacon of hope and a call to action, encouraging individuals and communities to learn, share, and connect over mental health issues. This year's theme, "Take the Moment," reminds us to pause and prioritize our mental well-being. Organizations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offer invaluable resources, including toolkits and social media content, to support advocacy and education efforts. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) also provides a comprehensive toolkit with best practices for engaging in healthy discussions about mental health. As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, let's commit to breaking down barriers, extending compassion, and fostering an environment where seeking help is not only accepted but encouraged.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to dismantle stigmas and prioritize mental well-being. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), in Hispanic/Latinx communities, accessing culturally sensitive mental health care remains a challenge, with about 35.1% seeking treatment annually, below the national average of 46.2%. Unique barriers, including a lack of diverse professionals and educational materials in Spanish, contribute to this disparity. At The Imagen Group, we prioritize the well-being of our team and clients, and recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health. This month, we encourage everyone to take time to prioritize their mental health and seek support when needed. Let us work together to create a world where mental health is treated with the same importance and compassion as any other health issue.

For Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re joining the national movement to raise awareness about mental health's vital role in our overall health and well-being. We should all care about mental health, whether we show our support by fighting stigma, providing resources, educating the public, or advocating for policies that will positively impact people with mental illness and their families. Nearly 1 in 5 American adults will have a diagnosable mental health condition every year. Yet, there continues to be a stigma surrounding mental health, although mental health issues are far from rare. Those who struggle with mental health problems need support because mental health care is health care. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eABW7tzW

July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month This month, we spotlight the unique challenges that Black, Indigenous, and People of Color face regarding mental health in the United States. Fear of judgment, cultural beliefs, generational differences, and lack of access to resources often prevent individuals in these communities from openly addressing their struggles and seeking the help they need. What can we do? *Foster open, honest conversations about mental health *Break the silence surrounding mental health issues in BIPOC communities *Create supportive environments that prioritize mental wellness and healing Let's commit to overcoming these barriers together. Breaking the silence is a crucial step toward healing and ensuring that mental health care is accessible and effective for everyone. #BIPOCMentalHealthMonth #BreakTheSilence #MentalHealthAwareness
