This is what heartbreak looks like 💔 Occasionally, life brings us face to face with something so profoundly moving, it seizes our very essence. It resonates deep within our core, enveloping our thoughts, our very being, and leaving us no choice but to respond. In 2019, I encountered such a moment, igniting a passion for animal advocacy within me. Perhaps witnessing the moment this bear surrenders to despair, dropping his head against these prison walls, might awaken an overwhelming sense of compassion and call to action within you as well. The unjust persecution of animals is an abhorrent stain on our world, a dark reality that should never have found its place. Yet, it persists, casting a cruel shadow over the world we inhabit. But in each of us lies the POWER to stand up, to raise our voices as one and declare, "NO MORE!" Together, we can forge a path toward a world where compassion triumphs over cruelty. The conservation con - never visit zoos. Give your money to sanctuaries instead and charities like Born Free, working to rehabilitate and keep animals in the wild and protect the wild. The way to protect endangered species and all wild animals is to protect wild animals in the WILD, where they belong. We need to #BanZoos and rethink how humans protect endangered species. It's about protecting their wild space, rewilding the land that has been destroyed by humans, humans not encroaching further on existing wild space, keeping humans and poachers out of protected spaces so these animals can thrive again. Zoos are not a part of that plan, as other captive breeding plans have shown. See this failed attempt with rhinos. They captured most of an endangered wild herd. The animals did not breed in captivity and then died of disease: https://lnkd.in/gf2mzBet Zoos started as a money making spectacle for humans to ogle at wild animals, captured and confined in often too small, inappropriate enclosures, for entertainment. Some are crueller than others. Some have morphed to say they breed endangered animals, but look at London Zoo, they also keep meerkats which are not endangered. It's all about making money. Whilst some enclosures may have gotten bigger, zoos still don't get my money. Wild animals should roam free in the wild. From the guardian article on the rhino: "... there are no short cuts or miracle cures to the threat of species extinction. The only solution is to preserve and protect the natural habitat that allows wild species to be truly “wild”. In the context of climate change, the conservation of interconnected habitats will be critical to allow species to move and adapt. This will require political will, straight talking by conservationists to gain public support, and an iron determination to enforce anti-poaching and anti-trafficking laws." https://lnkd.in/g3jgAfFQ

HOW DOES AN ANIMAL'S SOUL DETERMINE THEIR PHYSICAL EXPERIENCES? Beliefs that THERE IS A SOUL as a non-physical CREATOR AND MANAGER of what is created, EXIST IN SOME RELIGIONS BUT NOT IN OTHERS. Also, some religions accept that BOTH ANIMALS AND OTHER ENERGY FORMS have souls. Where animals are believed to have souls, it is believed that EVERY EXPERIENCE AN ANIMAL HAS SERVES THE DEVELOPMENT OF ITS SOUL. In this sense, this experience of the donkey, viewed FROM THE EGO LEVEL, is based on the BELIEFS THAT PEOPLE ABUSE ANIMALS BY LOADING THEM BEYOND THE LIMITS OF THEIR PHYSICAL STRENGTH. However, if we look at this experience of the donkey FROM THE LEVEL OF THE SOUL OF THE DONKEY, then we can say that the souls of the man and the donkey have agreed that MAN HELPS THE DONKEY TEST ITS EXTREMES BY OVERLOADING THE DONKEY. This means testing the donkey HOW MUCH IT CAN STAND AND WHAT LOAD IS THE LIMIT BETWEEN ITS PHYSICAL LIFE AND ITS DEATH. When it comes to death, there are also differences between religions. This implies that SOME BELIEVE THAT THE SOUL DIES TOGETHER WITH THE PHYSICAL BODY while OTHERS BELIEVE THAT THE SOUL CAN SURVIVE THE DEATH OF THE PHYSICAL BODY AND LIVE FOREVER OR UNTIL ITS DEATH. #soul #animals #equilibrium #jasnicaklaramatic

🎬 #AskAsim 🐅🦩 Three years ago, this world was a very different place. Today, through other social media platforms, I was reminded of the live virtual assembly series I was delivering every morning from the zoo during that time. Adapting to a new format of teaching and public presenting always comes with a learning curve and starting these daily live videos was no exception. Without the full script, students or audience to engage with directly, and a plethora of external factors such as WiFi signal quality, nearby traffic, maintenance works, and unpredictable animal behaviours, the experience absolutely was a full on course in: 📽 Memory training; to hit all the major and minor topics you pre-planned for that live presentation. 📽 Virtual lecturing; still being engaging and enthusiastic despite not having anyone to react to and adapt if required. 📽 Patience and focus; whether with connection quality, nearby traffic or maintenance works. 📽 Storytelling; ultimately still creating a fun, engaging and educational lesson - to different age, ability and background audiences watching you from their homes - and trying your best not to stumble too much on your words, remembering your rough text and not getting overwhelmed. Just planning for all of it was a major task, thinking of all the small details, collaborating with multiple departments, and feeling a bit nauseous due to all the things that could (and some did) go wrong. BUT we persevered, we tried new things and did our best, especially when we knew that out there, in their homes, were children, teens, adults and elderly, who were in desperate need of something ''lighter'' for their worried minds and anxious souls. Reading the public's comments after each presentation was a wonderful reassurance that we were achieveing that, and was some of the more heartfelt experiences in my career. So, dear reader: Why do meerkats have dark rings around their eyes? How do modern zoos replicate tigers' feeding patterns in their collections? Do flamingos sometimes just skip a breeding season? How do apex predators help keep their habitats healthy? “Captive CON$ervation” The Ambassador Animal Connection: AZA, ZAA and Roadside Zoos: “The Need to Breed, for Greed” Located in Murray, Nebraska, “Scatter Acres” is one of a fast growing plethora of unaccredited roadside zoos exploiting numerous species of exotic animals in the pseudo name of CON$ervation. Having previously worked for an AZA accredited zoo, I can attest to the fact that the “Association of Zoos & Aquariums” standards far exceed that of the “Zoological Association of America” (ZAA) accredited or roadside zoos. That being said, one aspect of AZA, ZAA and roadside zoos that is practically identical is their expansive and exploitive “ambassador animal” programs. AZA, ZAA and unaccredited roadside zoos across the country ontinue to breed, and purposefully human-imprint numerous species of exotic animals for the sole purpose of being exploited as “ambassador animals”. These sentient creatures spend a significant portion of their lives being exhibited for shows, special events and photo-ops, which oftentimes include “hands-on” encounters with the public. Zoos misguide the public into believing that “ambassador animal” programs contribute to the survival of said species in the wild.
