Todays column revolves around what I shall call The Question! You are reading the Presidents Day Column on Life Begins at Sunrise, the Monday Edition. HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY 2024! If you could ask any of the 45 presidents a question, an actual bonified realistic question, what might it be? I know what I would ask George Washington, that would be, as someone who still believes in the United States Constitution, I would ask what would you have either changed, added, or omitted from the Constitution to continue to make it viable today in rhe 21st century? of course this would be by protocol. I wonder, (even though I do know), why we can not have a direct conversation with our federally elected officials. if I remember correctly, all elected leaders actually work for us, not we work for them...... I'm just saying! I'm always one to have and to enjoy the art of a good conversation. So imagine if you will, putting (all), politics aside, and the conversations that could be had. I have read where Benjamin Franklin enjoyed a great conversation with his fellow Founding Fathers. if I could get him to speak, Silent Calvin Collidge might be interesting seeing he came from Northampton, Massachusetts. For that matter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Thomas Jefferson, Dwight David Eisenhower, and realistically, they all in their own special way could offer perhaps a good conversation. An idea just occurred to me, as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at American International College, (AIC) (free plug Susanne Swanker and Lori Strong Martin ), and a student of continuously wanting to learn about history someone perhaps like me, should write a book entitled "The Art of A Good Conversation With Former Presidents!" My three favorite Presidents were George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ronald Reagan. It has been said they knew each other, (only kidding). Had a lot of interesting thoughts and feedback from yesterday's moments of memorable stuff column. Hope you all enjoy the day ahead. Thanks for the read. OKBYE!

"Mr. Trump continues to suffer from the lowest level of corporate support in the history of the Republican Party. . . . Not a single Fortune 100 chief executive has donated to the candidate so far this year, which indicates a major break from overwhelming business and executive support for Republican presidential candidates dating back over a century, to the days of Taft . . . . Mr. Trump and his team are doubling down on some of his most anti-business instincts, including proposing draconian 10 percent tariffs on all imports; unorthodox monetary and fiscal policies, including stripping the Federal Reserve Board of its independence; possibly putting in place yield curve control to force interest rates lower; and devaluing the dollar — all of which would drive inflation much higher. Bill George, Interesting point of view. Can you explain how Minnesota's abortion policy supports your claim that "Tim Walz can find a resolution that's good for everyone"? How is not holding the father accountable for supporting a mother's decision to have the child good for everyone? How is putting money into a health care system to handle a completely avoidable pregnancy good for everyone? How is aborting a child's life good for everyone? How is spending tax dollars to support a practice that many people think is murder good for everyone? How is allowing abortions to end of term good for everyone? How is spending taxpayers' dollars on Pro-choice programs and cutting spending on Pro-life programs good for everyone? How is spending tax dollars to bring women to Minnesota to have an abortion good for everyone? Bill George, how do you support a statement that Tim Walz is a moderate when Minnesota policy does not address the concerns of many people in Minnesota? Is not holding people accountable for the consequences of their decisions good for anybody?

In fact, the holiday was simply called "Washington's Birthday." If you were to ever become President of the United States you will be required to work from home at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Your residence would consist of 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, with six levels. There are also 412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces, 8 staircases, and 3 elevators. Worth noting, that if by chance you were to get divorced during your presidency neither of you get to keep the house. Over the years of 46 different Presidents, many words of wisdom have been written within the walls of America's Executive Mansion. Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he or she wants to do it. Dwight D. The State of the U.S. Presidential Debate The recent debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump has further highlighted concerns regarding President Biden's cognitive abilities. Observers have noted that President Biden appears to struggle with clear and coherent thinking, suggesting that his capacity to effectively lead may be compromised. Numerous video clips from the debates provide snapshots of these concerns, but perhaps the most telling example is President Biden's recent speech on the White House lawn titled "The Best Way to Describe America." This speech, many argue, encapsulates the current state of the Biden administration and reflects broader issues facing America today. We find ourselves at a critical juncture in history. It is imperative that the Presidency of the United States is held by individuals who are not only capable but also demonstrate strong, decisive leadership. This is a call that transcends party lines; it is not about whether the individual is a Democrat or a Republican. What matters most is the competence and wisdom of those in charge. The eyes of the world are on the United States. The global community looks to the USA for leadership and stability. It is crucial that we have leaders who can communicate effectively both within our borders and on the international stage, guiding us through these challenging times with a steady hand. If we fail to ensure that our leaders are up to the task, we may face dire consequences that extend far beyond our national borders. The potential for global instability is real, and it is a responsibility we must take seriously to avoid witnessing catastrophic outcomes.
