Did every other #eventprof have heart palpitations when that stage was bouncing at the end of Usher's Super Bowl LVIII half time show? It's all the chatter in our slack channel this morning at TK Events Inc. Plus we have our quizz/challenge results which to be honest is centered around the half time show and not about the game at all. The things that had us talking beyond that - those ads - shout out to Dove and NIKE for their feature of girls/women in sports. Personally, I love all the pre-game hype and features. As event producers we focus a lot around playing up the destination and the Super Bowl producers sure brought us Vegas. That opening video with Frank Sinatra's My Way cut with some of the players big moments and the final shot against a Vegas backdrop - you just have to love a great production! We’ve all been to those media events where you pay $5,000 for an 8x8 table and put your products on top of a tablecloth for reporters to look at. These events don’t really expose the media to the value of your products. So last year we created our own media event: Carve X. We invited about 50 reporters who got to play with our clients’ toys and games. People were riding our client’s electric scooters up and down the halls. Media loved it, saying they had never experienced something like that before. So this year, we did it again. With a twist, of course. We brought Carve X to Gen Con – the largest tabletop game convention in North America. Instead of being in the middle of the crowded show floor, we set up shop at a local restaurant just minutes from the convention center. We featured the latest games from brands including Upper Deck, Relatable, KessCo, Ultra PRO, Educational Insights, and more. With different gameplay stations set up throughout the venue, our 20+ media members could sit down and take in the essence of the games in a quiet, more relaxed setting. It was nothing short of a success and I’m proud of the team that made it happen – here’s to more Carve X in the future! #publicrelations #teamwork #partnership #mediarelations

Use these tips to prepare for your next trade show to experience less stress and more success! #1. Have clear goals defined for what you want to achieve by attending the trade show. 🎯 #2. Book your appointments in advance. Great tools like MeetToMatch help you find and set appointments with other attendees. If you need help booking appointments with the press, let us know, and we can help you with that! #3. Make a schedule for you and your team. Once you are onsight, things can get hectic, so have a schedule. And don't forget to make dinner reservations well in advance! #4. As a golf fan, the Bryson DeChambeau story is an interesting one on the branding and marketing side of things. Let's be clear that prior to joining LIV Golf, I think the "shine" had more or less come off the Bryson penny. His feud with Brooks Koepka did him no favors, and I don't think the golf traditionalists were a big fan of him blitzing classic courses with 400 yard drives. The guy was also in his mid-20's. Who hasn't/didn't say a few things during that age range that they wish they could now take back? In 2024, he seems to have let his true self shine through. His genuineness and authenticity was captured time and time again at the U.S. Open during interactions with fans, fellow pros and those in the media. Heck, the guy filmed a round playing with hickory clubs earlier this year. He's not trying to change the game -- he's trying to honor the past while helping to usher in a new era of golf fans. Ultimately, this feels like a real time lesson in branding, showcasing why authenticity and being true to your brand are so important. People can tell when you're not, and your brand can suffer as a result.
