Know your escape routes! Have you ever run a trade show booth and had no idea how to get your on-hand booth materials out of the event floor? I certainly have... When running a booth at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre, my partner and I made the mistake of paying for parking, blocks down from the convention center. For one reason or another, we walked our materials down the street rather than bring the car up and pack everything in on Front St. I have no idea why we did this, and it made things way more difficult than they had to be. While I always advocate for having a teardown and exit plan, sometimes you just need to improvise if you are not used to the convention center you are exhibiting at.
