Daily sentiments from our art department. 👇 We know. It's popular. But there are a whole bunch of reasons why you should look for alternative options when it comes to design for your business. Among them? - Your file is NOT print ready, so when you submit something to us for printing, there's likely going to be "fixing" involved, driving the price up for you. - It's restrictive for you in SO many ways. - Nothing is customized to you, your business or your brand. Everyone is using the same stuff. (Though not ours) This designer sums it up nicely: https://lnkd.in/g4f_ahir Our suggestions? Look at Adobe Illustrator or InDesign. Even Adobe Express (which is a little more like Canva, but offers less restriction). #wafisher #ironrange #ironrangeadagency #ironrangedesign #graphicdesign #brandingagency

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬? 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐥. When working on any design project, understanding different color systems is key. Here's a quick guide to help you navigate the most common ones: 1️⃣ 𝐏𝐌𝐒 (𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦): ↳Perfect for printing, PMS ensures color consistency across all materials. It’s great for brand logos where exact color matching is crucial. 2️⃣ 𝐂𝐌𝐘𝐊 (𝐂𝐲𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚, 𝐘𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰, 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤): ↳This is the go-to for print projects. It’s a subtractive color model, meaning the colors are created by subtracting light. CMYK is your friend if you’re designing brochures, business cards, or posters. 3️⃣ 𝐑𝐆𝐁 (𝐑𝐞𝐝, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧, 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞): ↳RGB is an additive color model ideal for digital designs like websites and social media graphics. It mixes light to create colors, making your designs pop on screens. 4️⃣ 𝐇𝐞𝐱 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬: ↳Used in web design, Hex codes are six-digit codes that represent colors in digital spaces. They’re a simple way to ensure color accuracy across different devices. Understanding when to use these systems will make your designs more effective and versatile, whether you’re working on print or digital projects. #GraphicDesign #DesignTips #PMS #CMYK #RGB #HexCodes #ColorTheory #Branding #PrintDesign #DigitalDesign

Helping leisure & visitor attractions achieve consistent footfall & brand recognition by designing high quality, consistent identities & eye-catching seasonal campaigns | Brand creation £3k | Full seasonal campaign £6k
Sending items to print from Canva – do you know what file you need to export? When you have the pro account you can set up all different format layouts, many of these are useful for printed marketing material. But when you export your artwork to send to print have you made sure it is CMYK and not RGB? Printed items use 4 inks; cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Online (our screens) show everything in red, green and blue. When exporting your PDF for print you need to make sure you have selected the right tick box, (as shown in my screen grab) so that your items are colour correct and your colour renders correctly on press. As well as adding bleed (which I have talked about before) this is another useful tip so that your printer won't reject your artwork or charge you more for making changes to the document. Another idea would be to talk to a graphic designer experienced in sending items to print as it can be a stressful situation if you are not confident in printing items and don't want any costly mistakes! #printedmarketing #printartwork #printdesigner

Let's talk about the different file types for your logo and what each one is best used for. Knowing when to use each file type can make a big difference in your branding! 👇 ✨ JPG (JPEG): Best for web use and social media posts. JPGs are great for photos but not ideal for logos with transparency or intricate details. ✨ PNG: Perfect for web use, especially when you need a transparent background. Use PNGs for logos on websites, presentations, and other digital platforms. ✨ PDF: Ideal for sharing and printing. PDFs maintain the quality of your logo and are easily accessible. Perfect for sending your logo to clients or designers. ✨ Vector (AI, EPS, SVG): The ultimate format for your logo! Vectors can be resized without losing quality, making them perfect for everything from business cards to billboards. Always keep a vector file handy for any future needs. Remember, using the right file type ensures your logo always looks its best 🌟 Don't forget to bookmark this post for future reference!

You can feel a nice brochure or smell the fresh ink on a book. 🔹 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐲: Printed things, like business cards or magazines, look professional and make people trust them more. 🔹 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬: Print is special because you can touch and hear it. Turning pages, feeling the paper, and seeing shiny or smooth finishes make it more interesting. 🔹 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞: Print is becoming something special. Fancy prints, cool packaging, and custom stationery make brands stand out. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭? 🔸 𝐄𝐜𝐨-𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲: Use materials and ways that are good for the Earth. People want greener options. 🔸 𝐌𝐢𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥: Combine print with digital. Use QR codes, AR (augmented reality), and NFC (near-field communication) to make print interactive and fun. 🔸𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥: New printing tech lets us make print materials that feel personal. The soup of Steven consists of a base of gaming development, tons of design flavour, a tasteful pinch of leadership, and a good drizzle of professional sports.
A great thought. Digital is consuming everything and the process of how we design would need to match that. Extra steps and additional documents to allow for digital branding (RGB) and print branding (CMYK). ---- #digitalbranding #printbranding #rgb #cmyk #design #designtrends #businessowner #freelance #graphicdesign
Using a gradient in your logo is OK now. 😮💨 At least that was my take after reading Bill Gardner’s 2024 Logo Trend Report. In particular, this statement caught my eye, “With brands primarily living online, a plentitude of logos are entirely RGB—will never be printed.” Logo designers are (mostly) taught to set their design documents up in a CMYK colour mode. This means that when you start designing, you’ll be working in a format that guarantees your logo can be printed well. Using gradients in your logo can be tricky because there are all sorts of issues to account for when printing your design, such as dot gain, banding and colour accuracy. But much in the same way that web designers had to move to a ‘mobile first’ approach as users shifted to their phones, should logo designers follow suit and switch to an RGB first model? Because as more and more brands switch to an online-only model, as Bill puts it, the physical adaptation (printing) is now the ‘tail and not the dog’.
