Leading by example is my kind of leadership. I consider myself a servant leader.
THIS IS WHAT LEADERSHIP LOOKS LIKE! I stop by Capri Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Lewis Center, Ohio today on my way to another meeting. I had time and wanted to see how Derek Lytle, LNHA, one of our newer young Administrator was doing. When I got there the receptionist said that Derek was out on the floor but wasn't sure where. I told her, "No problem, I'll walk around and visit, and I'll find him." After visiting with a few residents and employees and making my way through part of the building, I saw Derek coming out of a resident's rooms with a broom and dustpan in his hand. He told me that they were down a Housekeeper today and instead of putting extra work on the team he decided to help out and clean one of the Units himself. I could feel my chest filling with pride and knowing that this young man was going to be an amazing Administrator. He leads by example and steps up to help his team. Culture of Care in Action! “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” —William Arthur Ward #leadership #example #inspiringleadership #caprigardens #foundationshealthsolution #cultureofcare #makingadifference #ltc #seniorliving #seniorcare

The housing crisis has gotten so extreme on Long Island that cardiologists making $350,000 a year are struggling to find homes. Soaring property prices are the single biggest impediment to recruiting doctors, nurses and lab technicians, according to Paul Connor, chief administrative officer of Stony Brook's Eastern Long Island Hospital on the North Fork. The laid-back alternative to the Hamptons, the North Fork has seen median home prices jump 50% in four years to almost $1 million, and listings have declined 60% to just 137 properties for a population of about 50,000. The entire New York state is reeling from a lack of affordable places to live. But Suffolk County, home to the North Fork, added an average of only 1% of new homes to its housing stock from 2017 to 2021, putting it at the bottom of New York state's housing production along with Rochester's Monroe County. Read more here from Bloomberg colleague Jennifer Epstein and me:

Growth-Driven in Emergency Mgmt, EMS & Public Service | Experienced & Seeking New Opportunities | Committed to Enhancing Safety & Preparedness | Social Entrepreneurship | Mentor & Advocate | Emerging Professional |
The Care Forward Colorado initiative has proven to be a game-changing program, demonstrating the immense potential of providing zero-cost training to people in professions that face staff shortages. As someone who has personally benefited from this program while living in Colorado, I strongly advocate for every state to implement their own version of such a plan. By doing so, we can address the critical shortages in vital fields such as emergency medical services, fire services, law enforcement, teaching, and many others. The positive ripple effect created by these newly trained professionals not only fills a considerable employment gap but also enhances public safety, education, and community resilience across the nation. It's high time for all states to adopt a similar approach and invest in the future of their citizens by offering comprehensive and accessible training programs like Care Forward Colorado. https://lnkd.in/gT8rVHpE #HealthcareForward #AmericaForward #EMSForward #ColoradoForward #ConnecticutForward #IllinoisForward

A Jill-of-All-Trades Marketer & Digital Strategist | ENFP | Passion for bringing Fun and Authenticity into Marketing & Branding.
In today's digital age flooded with information, consumers are more discerning than ever. Authentic, not highly product content fosters trust, as audiences believe they're engaging with genuine messages rather than traditional promotional tactics. It's about creating stories that blend seamlessly into feeds while fostering genuine connections. Ironically, coming from a production background where I'd invest days, if not weeks, meticulously editing videos and crafting After Effects animations, this was a tough realization for me. It made me reflect on how sometimes, less can indeed be more when it comes to forming real connections. At Job.com, one of our 3 core values is to be" human at the core" of everything we do. I can't stress enough how much I personally resonate with this, especially when it comes to what we put out there. Every article, post, or video we share is more than just content—it's a piece of who we are, our dedication to realness, and being human at the core.

Keeping it real Many of us are familiar with what it takes to create a feature like this to meet an objective. For a clip that runs a couple of minutes, hours and even days of preparation go into the final product. I am exceptionally delighted particularly with this one as each person featured, as well as the ones not seen but made this possible are real to me. This feature holds a lot more meaning for me as it is a real reflection of hopes and aspirations fulfilled, including the ones that are work in progress. It features real relationships that are forged to bring care to the patients. If this feature brings warmth to you, it is because our colleagues from Comms lead in this, doing what they do best knowing how important a role they play in our collective success. I have also learnt that keeping things real for this generation of healthcare practitioners means a lot more effort needs to be made to systematically hasten their learning through a breadth of exposure. Job rotations, dual roles, job sharing, we'll explore whatever it takes to keep Alexians inspired. In doing so, we hope they discover more about themselves and lead themselves to where their True North points to. Relative to my generation and experience, we encounter a smaller number of young practioners today who would know their calling right at the get-go. I admire their openness to new experiences and change in order to learn and find themselves. I figure my generation has lots to offer by facilitiating these changes while preserving a safe environment (or playground) for them to learn and progress, while having fun at the same time. Together, we've discovered and learnt from each other and created many new possibilities to sustain a well-balanced way of life at work. #AlexandraHospital #OurCultureIsLearningDaringFun #OurPeopleOurLeaders #DareToBeAnAlexNurse https://lnkd.in/gtXyyASq
