I always tell my clients that it's important to diversify their revenue streams. Grants can be a great boost, but they shouldn’t be the main source of funding. Grants are competitive, limited, and often come with strings attached, so they’re not something you can count on for the long haul. I typically recommend keeping grants to about 15% of your overall revenue. By exploring other options like donations, sponsorships, events, and earned income, you create a stronger, more adaptable foundation that can support your mission no matter what. Diversifying isn’t just about money. It’s about giving your organization the freedom and stability to keep making an impact.
💡 It's important for nonprofits to have a mix of funding sources to stay strong and sustainable. At Divine Writing & Consulting, we’re here to help you create strategies that go beyond just grants, building a solid foundation for lasting growth. By diversifying your income, you can reduce reliance on grants and confidently secure your nonprofit's future. Let’s turn challenges into opportunities.
