Interesting Pub in Convenience Store News about Convenience Technology Vision Group's take on retail media networks, and certainly worth a read. Getting your arms around a complex network that serves the needs of your brand, your vendors, and most importantly your customers can be difficult. But don’t allow perfection to be the enemy of the good. As an example, I was with one of Shep Digital Solutions retail partners earlier this week, and they recently achieved a 16% higher sales lift on an energy drink promotion that was supported by a forecourt media network, compared to control stores and YoY same store sales. It was only on a forecourt network, it was funded by the vendor, and it was purchased directly through the retailer. Simple, straight forward, and effective! Here’s a great quote from Robert Hampton at Jacksons Food Stores and it’s a common concern for retailers of all sizes: “"What I've found personally is it's not so much a technology issue and it's not so much a CPG or somebody wanting to buy the space," said Robert Hampton, vice president of technology services and innovation for Jacksons Food Stores. "It's 'do you have the person in marketing, the intermediary to manage all of this for you and to make sure you've got the proof of play, data getting out, that you've got the right things running at the right time?'".
