You born in a barn? I'm gonna supposed to stay. You know, I know it's last week. I'm looking up here. When I look back, I'm like, where am I looking up here? Welcome back to Getting Hired with Hayes. Today I have got our newest consultants, Twine, Clayton, Dylan and Emily welcome. So really excited to discuss their experience about the business and life in Dubai so far. So Dylan, I know you've already got recruitment experience, your work working for Joe and the Juice before you joined White and Clayton. So how are you finding the cultural environment of our office in comparison to where you've worked previously so. Culture has been like a massive part for me in terms of I joined Juice, I was a big part of my job role. So I've always kind of said to myself the next place I would ever move to would have to have some sort of similar culture. And the culture weren't clean has been very good in terms of like it's very homely environment. Everyone's just like close mates. It's a very different recruitment type of fill and also as well aware like Joe and Juice, you know, we'll be on like events and sports and. Policies, incentives, all that stuff have come into work and play and it's exactly the same. You know, I've been here for 2 1/2 months now and, you know, we've been playing paddle every single week tonight. Let's get ready tonight. Incentives as well. My first week we had a one year anniversary, so we're out for dinner. There's been, yeah, a few calling incentives and stuff and it just, it just, it helps, you know, create bonds between the team, the environment. It's really nice as well. And also, you know, just down to that music. We play great music in the office. This keeps the violence been enjoying my playlist recently haven't they so why is culture important to you then Dylan where it kind of shaped my kind of last year working out joined juice. It is it showed me what what can kind of retain employees and what can kind of help employees work better whether they're they're desk or out and about so when I've come into white and Clayton. I've just seen that people work a little better alongside each other, You know, we can freely talk to each other. It's not like, like I said, in terms of recruitment, I feel like it's got a very negative, um, kind of aura around it. And people think it's like on the phones nonstop, You know, it's very like hustle and bustle 15 hours a day. But it can be like that, but it also doesn't have to be like that. And I feel like why I'm playing shows that we, we can potentially be working 9-10 hour days at Warren claim, but I've always believed that saying that. If you enjoy what you do at work, you don't ever work a day in your life and that's why I kind of feel here for sure. So before you were doing internal recruitment. Yeah. Now we're doing 360. Yeah. How does that kind of differ? It is very different. I'd say with internal recruitment, all the applicants come to you. You are representing the business, you are already representing the client. So let's take joined you, for example, I was a recruiter for Jonah Juice. All the applicants came to me for certain areas of the UK. So I don't really have to go on my way to find candidates. We have those candidates applying and all I would essentially do is just look at the CV, are they a good fit? Cool. I'll bring them in for an interview if I like them. I did interview, I'd offer them the job. So very different to what we do in 360 recruitment where we have to go out of our way to find the client in hopes that you know, we can provide them with an amazing candidate. If we get on board with the client, then you know, get our candidates interviews, so on and so forth. So it's a much longer process. Um, but I guess that's why 360 is Commission based and internal isn't Dylan you keep talking about during the juice And I'm just really need to ask you what your favorite product is from Joe and the juice. It would have to be the spicy tuna sandwich. OK. And the little secret I found out about two years in one of my mates told me to put honey on it. And it makes it a lot better. It's like spicy and sweet. So yeah, it's my favorite product. I've only tried the Tunicata and I didn't really get what the the whole height was it about about it really. And then try out of nowhere. But it's very nice. Very nice. Yeah, it is. So what motivates you then, Dylan? Just me personally, I can't. Work, if the environment is not a place I'd wanna, I would want to be at alongside that my schedule. So if I'm, you know, if my diet is good and I'm at the gym and I'm also getting a good nine hours, there were days worth of work. That's my day complete. That's something that motivates me. But also, you know, to kind of like address the elephant in the room. You know, we all have moved out to to Dubai for similar reasons that could, you know, mainly the money is very different to London. You know, it's tax free over here and a lot of people. Are probably watching this or you know, have seen people talk about the right thing. You know, people only come out here for tax free money. It's not only that, but it does play a massive factor because you know, you're getting everything, you make it straight into your pocket. So being able to kind of make that type of money and then also, you know, have a good schedule. That's something that kind of motivates you. Just having a good pack today where I can do things according to myself. And had you visited Dubai before you moved over here? Yeah, so I used the karma least once a year for about three or four years now. Love the I've always said to myself, if there was one place I'd move to would be Dubai, purely because every time I came on holiday, I had such a great time. On the flip side of that, when I did move out here, I had to see for myself. I'm not here on holiday, I'm here to work. So I had to change my mindset a little bit. But honestly, we have the weekends we have after work. It's always hot nonstop. And on the weekends instead of, you know, going shopping like I would in London, I can go to the beach. So Emily, how are you finding Dubai compared to? That coming Liverpool really goods. I think coming from a city it does help. I think if I grew up in the countryside it'd be a completely different story. I think back at home, obviously we used the 365 days of rain. So coming out here, 365 days of sunshine minus the floods, yeah, that's like the biggest difference I think. But also tax free, like Don said, it's all tax free, which is great to know that every penny you've been going straight into your pocket. Yeah, it wasn't laughing because he said, you know, sort of city life. I'm used to love us lumbosacral. Obviously Dubai is a much bigger scale, but thoroughly enjoying it. Emily, you're a little bit different from Dylan and the fact that you hadn't hadn't actually worked in recruitment before. So why did you want to come in to recruitment? So I've always wanted a career, never really knowing what was for me or what I wanted to do. And then Sean, my boyfriend's actually got an opportunity out here. And I face that was a little bit apprehensive. I didn't want to leave home. I didn't want to leave my family and friends and really miss, you know, me, me nieces and nephews growing up. But at the time I thought, you know what, life's too short. So started looking and it was, it just so happened that he was kind of expanding the office. So obviously reached out to him and. The rest of you are sat next to us. So, you know, Dubai is not always kind of sunshines and rainbows. There can be difficulties that people face. Have you found any difficulties so far living here? Yeah. So I think I thought my biggest difficulty was going to be leaving my friends and family, as I said. But FaceTime to God's hands, like. It is, yeah. Both. I think my my biggest difficulty is living in a hotel for longer than what I expected. I was expecting to sort of move out within. Two 2-3 months at most and it just doesn't work out that way. So yeah, that's a huge difference. I miss on the kitchen to be able to just these home cooked foods and and also as as much as it sounds sends me washroom for people to wash sweep you any day of the week. I'm really could come and use my washer anytime you want when when your clothes come back just like how you wouldn't really want. Yeah, now I guess that's one of them for you know that. That's really the. So form for me I am, but also like laying on how to use the money like how how did them is 100 Dedham is completely different to 100 lbs Yeah. So I was thinking I'm paying extortionate prices for something that would only cost me ��20 back at home but yeah, I think that was that was you know that was a big yeah, I have I saw the app on my phone where I just converted everything into pounds Yeah because otherwise you just get carried away with it before you know it you've just spent all of your. From a money, holiday money, yeah, it does feel a holiday money. Yeah, you're right. Family just going back to the cultural aspects of things. Then what do you think makes our office unique apart from the characters? So I think our office is very modern compared to your typical, you know, nine to five job. Personally, I don't know of many other companies that have screens up and you know, your face comes comes up on the screen once you've done a deal or once you've done placements and the whole office stuff to doing in class. Yeah, that's so nice. He said. You know, we're all. Very different in our own ways, but somehow we all just seem to get on with each other, which I think is quite unique as quite a lot of the time you don't you don't get that in an office, apart from when we're all fighting about the economy. Can't the daily air con walls, you know, as I said, it's just really, really modern and very enjoyable. I think for for us all good you enjoy coming to work everyday, but I like to hear and what have you been your highlights of of working here in Dubai so. My personal highlights, you've not stopped since I got off the plane really, but where can I think, you know, we're quite lucky in the sense that we get incentives. We, you know, we got took out on our one year anniversary and we do pool days, we do beach days each week, each weekend. So I think they're compared to back at home. You just don't get that. So I think you know, well, personally, I feel very lucky that we, you know, we get things like that and it's something to look forward to and something to. Want to do well? Because ultimately that's what we were here for. What at the end? And I think working here as well, when I would finish work at home, I'd go home, watch the telly, bath, bed, same routine here. The day, the day is just started really, if you wanted to, you can go out and explore to buy in the evenings. And I think the stuff that we've got on offer here is just great. Absolutely. And I think as well, you know, a big thing for me is that. For life, like we really all do. We do, Yeah. So it's really. And we've all come here essentially for the same reason. So. So guys, I'm just going to throw in a couple of strange questions. So what's the weirdest question you've been asked in an interview? Up in the craziest one for me kind of came a surprise, but I was asked if I was a Disney Princess, what would I do? You weren't joking. No. Did you answer the question? I didn't answer it. I didn't answer it. But if you were to answer the question now what? What would you be four years later? Cultural reasons. I'll say Jasmine, I'll say Princess. I can show you. OK, Dylan. Interesting. And if our office had a theme song that played every time someone walked in, what would it be? Definitely be crazy, petty, hot and cold spot because of the economy. It's just me that every time that's real, that's real. Yeah, I think that's very fitting to be fair. So guys, just want to say thank you very much for joining me today. Thanks.
