I work in the meat department — stay with me, I promise it'll make sense. I work in the meat department of a large grocery store. I know the different cuts of meat and can make the best recommendations. You walk up to my counter and say, "Hey there, here's my shopping list. Let me know what you've got for me." There's no meat on your list. Just a random assortment of things that I don't know where they’re located or if we even sell them at this store. Since I run a busy meat counter, I'll most likely hand your list back to you and explain that I have other customers to attend to — after all, a small line has likely formed. Now, if you were to come up to my counter and say, "Hey there, I saw on your weekly newsletter that you have [specific product], do you know what aisle that's on?" I can quickly look it up to see where it's at or let you know when it’ll be in stock. It’s clear, direct, and helps both of us. Do this with your job search. If you reach out to a recruiter without specifying a role or aligning your skills with their open positions, it's much harder for them to help you. But when you know what you're looking for, you're more likely to get a response that’s meaningful and useful to your job search. Oh...and ribeye. That's the best cut of meat. :) #JobSearchTips #RecruiterAdvice #RibEyeForDinner

When is it the right time to talk Rhubard? round about now actually!! Aside from creating one of my favourite puddings, Rhubard Crumble of course 😋 this humble fruit is coming into season right now. A growing period which starts now providing forced Rhubard, through till mid June or even longer with a good manure around the plants base. A versatile fruit, which can be adapted across a range of dishes beyond the mighty crumble into Jam (love it with ginger), chutney, cordials ( Ask Belvoir Farm) and syllabubs. And on those hot summer days fits perfectly in gin and ice cream!! What's not to love? Despite this, there is one place Rhubarb doesn't tastes that good. Yep, you guessed it In the middle of a #jobinterview In the heat of an interview If you are unsure of the answer to a question , never get the Rhubarb out. Served raw, it is a bitter dish, tastes awful and leaves an unpleasant palate. When you are unsure how to answer an interview question, take time to consider the question and either ask for clarity or advise you are unable to answer. Successful interviewing is all about preparation so check out https://lnkd.in/eP-ak5kW for tips to help you secure that interview. Never get the Rhubarb out. Leave it to your culinary talents. #nymanscareeradvice #fmcgjobs #skillspaybills #interviewtips #interviewprep #interviewing #careeradvice

I decided to cook Chicken Tika Butter Masala Hence went to the market to buy Tomatoes Those of you who enjoy cooking or relishing this dish would know that the best tomatoes for this recipe are Tangy, Soft, Red and Ripe ones. Hence, I specifically looked for this TYPE of tomatoes. I went from vendor to vendor, felt the tomatoes, checked the colour, assessed the softness & drew a picture in my mind of how they would taste like. The vendors pushed at me tomatoes that were fresher, greener, harder, ones that were less ripe, freshly plucked. But that did not interest me. I KNEW what I wanted & I wanted the other TYPE! Now just replace the following The Recipe <—> Organization & Culture Me <—> HR Recruiter The Vendor <—> Consultant Tomatoes <—> Talent So whenever after an interview you get rejected please donot assume that it’s you that’s the problem May be the recruiter was preparing a separate dish that specifically required a different TYPE of talent. Every Job has a fit Either talent wise Age wise Cost wise Experience wise Specialization wise or Campus wise You as a candidate have little control over all these elements Hence do-not blame yourself or think of yourself as not good enough for not making it through. Remember we all have different flavours And we will fit into some or the other dish being prepared #jobsearch #talent #recipe #success #recipe #rejection Sushant Kumar Siingh

FRIDAY FUN ABOUT RECRUITMENT 😂 Recruitment is like baking sourdough bread. I've been baking my bread for quite some time, and I've been in recruitment for years. Successful recruitment, like perfect sourdough, requires patience, precision, and attention to detail 😎 👉 The Starter: The initial candidate pool, cultivated through job postings and networking, is like the starter's flour and water mix. 👉Fermentation: Screening and engaging with candidates is akin to fermenting the dough, developing its flavor and structure. 👉Bulk Fermentation: Building relationships with shortlisted candidates mirrors the dough's rise and flavor development. 👉Shaping and Proofing: Final interviews and assessments are like shaping and proofing the dough before baking. 👉Baking: Onboarding transforms candidates into productive employees, just as baking turns dough into bread. Oh, forgot to mention - we recruit for food production roles as well! #RecruitmentLife #Sourdough #FridayFunAboutRecruitment #Recruitment #FoodProduction

Thanks to those who have pointed out that National Fish and Chip Day got moved from it's usual spot and brought forward a day - meaning it was yesterday, and we missed it! To be honest even had we realised it wouldn't have made the cut yesterday as there was something far more important going on. But we've gone to the trouble of tenuously linking a fish supper to recruitment, and figure at least it will stand out against all the national doughnut day posts, so we're just gonna leave it here... Today is a day of celebration, recognising tradition and culture in the form of British cuisine - the classic fish and chips 🐟🍟 There's no surprise that there's a national day dedicated to the iconic dish (after all, there's a national day for everything), and as avid fish and chip fans it would be rude not to acknowledge the importance of today with the only way we know how - by listing the similarities between fish & chips and recruiting the perfect candidate: 🧂 Ingredients matter - just like the right condiments make the meal, selecting a candidate with the right skills can make the job 🎣 The right catch - to get the best quality fish you need some appealing bait, use this to make your job ad to stand out (benefits are a good place to start) 🍴 Presentation is key - a well presented dish is an important factor, and just like a well presented candidate matters, so does an employer So if you want to tick all the boxes above and ensure you're getting the right catch for the job, then get in touch today. Those all important details are in the comments below ⬇️ hashtag #NationalFishAndChipsDay

🍦 Yesterday was National Ice Cream Day, and we celebrated by making fresh, homemade vanilla ice cream in our own kitchen. There's something special about the simplicity and authenticity of homemade vanilla – no frills, just pure, delicious goodness. This got me thinking about our approach at Edisto Consulting Group. Just like how a simple vanilla ice cream can often be the best, finding the right person for a position doesn’t always require all the bells and whistles. Sometimes, the perfect fit is the candidate who brings genuine skills, a solid work ethic, and a great cultural fit. In our recruitment process, we focus on these core qualities, ensuring our clients get access to the best talent. It’s not about how flashy the resume is, but about the real, underlying value that a candidate can bring to the table. Here's to keeping it simple and finding the perfect match, both in ice cream and in talent! 🍨 #NationalIceCreamDay #Recruitment #TalentAcquisition #EdistoConsultingGroup #SimpleIsBest #nowhiring
