What happens in September? Loads of things actually. For some of the team at Catman Jobs the best bit is that the kids go back to school. Hurrrraaaah is the relief heard from many parents as they pack up the school bag and get the kids back into a routine. Others are packing up cars full of well " junk" as they take their "kids" to University with a world of possessions which look like they belong in a junk yard. And then there are the lucky ones who are jetting off to make the most of some end of season sun at cheaper prices than the standard holiday rush. Lucky them!! What does all this add up to in terms of recruitment? It busts the myth that everyone goes back to work on the 3rd September and loads of new roles appear on the market to feast your eyes on. It's a weird thing we have never understood in 20 years of recruiting category specialists in FMCG, how September is believed to be the big push moment. Our experience here at Paul Nyman Consultancy is that it normally starts to shape up with a bit more enthusiasm in early October. Just as the year end is looming and managers realise they need to crack on with building their teams. So if you are hunting for a new role right now and seek career support, don't get frustrated with lack of progress and rejections right. It will come. There is a role out there for everyone and the team here can help you source that whilst offering advice on how to grow your own skills for future success.
