Last week I wrote about bringing on nurses from other countries to supplement nurses working in the U.S. This alternative staffing model will be appropriate for some organizations while others will feel more comfortable with other creative approaches. Using virtual or telehealth can supplement nursing staff. Often, a phone call or text is an appropriate way to reach out. These options extend the reach of healthcare professionals and offer new opportunities to spread the load among other qualified staff.
