We are planting good seeds in our unit and serving up growth one person at a time. The seeds of resilence, authenticity, excellennce, teamwork, innovation, professional development, courage and engagement are being watered daily (to name a few). We set a goal to increase our certified nurses this year. We started with 2 and now we have 10 (6 since December 30). There are amazing things sprouting from each person pictured that is spreading to others on our unit. Grateful Reflections: looking back on my journey of self-discovery and growth, reflecting on pivotal moments that shaped my path. In my early 20s, nursing seemed to offer financial stability and global prospects, yet there is a lingering sense of inadequacy that drove my pursuit of self-improvement🥰💪💫 Risk-taking, boundary-pushing, and self-exhaustion led to a profound realization: subconscious patterns influencing my choices. Mentors and coaches played a crucial role in driving my growth. Experiences of working in a country that will help me meet an instrumental figure revealing my shadows and blind spots for more exploration of something bigger than me👥💖💎 Now, the reason behind pursuing nursing is clear & more than helping others. The College of Paramedics will not cease to highlight concerns and issues with practice based learning environments until we are assured that our learners are getting the above. Nobody should be accepting the current situation as anything other than absolutely inexcusable. Isn’t it odd how quickly confidence can be knocked. Just a week ago I was feeling incredibly positive. Today I’m full of cold, feeling sorry for myself and berating myself for not understanding every single tiny detail of our Trusts finances. Clearly a ludicrous expectation to have, but the pressure of the planning round is impacting and I know I won’t be alone in feeling this. So everyone working in NHS Finance that are battling to understand organisational numbers, please be kind to yourself and your teams. It’s highly likely your teams don’t have the data in one single datalake from which you can simply pull out what you need to answer the questions. You’re all frantically trying to re-present the same data in different ways for different audiences whilst also preparing for year-end. Your teams are busy, covering gaps, keeping the wheels on the cart. It’s not easy to use the past to predict the future. If it was we’d all be rich.
